Yuelu Academy
Yuelu Academy is one of the four famous academies in ancient China is also the best preserved ancient academy in China. Year 976, Northern Song Dynasty, Yuelu Academy officially established. Yuelu Academy covers an area of 21000 square meters. Most of the existing buildings are relics of Ming and Qing Dynasty.
Aiwan Pavilion
Aiwan pavilion was built in 1792, the 57th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. The former name of Aiwan pavilion is Hongye Pavilion, also known as Aifeng Pavilion, which means loving maple pavilion. In fall, it is a ideal place to enjoy the amazing maple scenery. On the pavilion, there is a horizontal inscribed board with an inscription by Mao Zedong, reading “Aiwan Pavilion”.
Yun Lu Temple
Yunlu palace, located at the top of Yuelu mountain, is a Taoist temple. The temple was founded in the Ming Dynasty, 1478 A.D. The history of Taoist activities in Yuelu Mountain is quite long. Yuelu Mountain has been an active center since then.
Lushan Temple
Lushan Temple is the earliest Buddhist temples in Hunan. The temple is located at the middle of Yuelu Mountain, in the ancient forest, Lushan Temple was built in Western Jin Dynasty, has a history of more than 1700 years.
