Why is Huaminglou Town Scenic Area So Special?
Huaminglou is the hometown of Liu Shaoqi, who is the former chairman, proletarian revolutionist and one of the founding fathers of the People’s Republic of China. It is a key tourist attraction along the Changsha-Shaoshan- Huaminglou-Niaoshi travel route, a route connected with New China’s first generation of leaders.

Liu Shaoqi’s Memorial Hall
Liu Shaoqi’s Memorial Hall is a main part of Huaminglou, is a key historical monument under state-level protection. The hall mainly includes his former residence and bronze statue. Over 190 exhibits are on display; the typical features of a farmer’s house at the end of the 19th century and some scenes of Liu Shaoqi’s life are represented in the old residence.
Liu Shaoqi’s Former Residence
The first bedroom to the right of the main hall is Liu Shaoqi’s brother, Yunting’s bedroom. The second bedroom is Liu Shaoqi’s bedroom when he was a teenage. Then is the room of Liu Shaoqi’s parents.There are almost two hundred exhibits displayed in the residence.
Bronze Statue of Liu Shaoqi
The bronze statue of Liu Shaoqi, designed by Liu Kaiqu, curator of China Art Museum, famous sculptor, and Cheng Yunxian, sculptor of China Military Museum, was built on a mountain parcel about 200 meters southwest of the memorial hall. It is a standing statue, the base is 3.1m high, and the image height is 4m. and a total height of 7.1 meters.
