Brief Introduction of Venetian Macau

The Venetian Macao (澳門威尼斯人) is a luxury hotel and casino resort in Macau owned by the American Las Vegas Sands company. The Venetian is a 39-story, casino hotel on the Cotai Strip in Macau. The 10,500,000-square-foot (980,000 m2) Venetian Macao is modeled on its sister casino resort The Venetian Las Vegas. The Venetian Macao is the largest casino in the world, the largest single structure hotel building in Asia, and also the seventh-largest building in the world by floor area.

The Venetian Macao is the flagship casino resort on Macau’s bustling Cotai Strip. Modeled on its sister property in Las Vegas, the Venetian Macau is (as the name suggests) themed on the romantic streets and canals of Venice. Naturally, some of the romance is lost through the 3000 plus slot machines constantly flashing at you, but the gondola rides and replica St Marks Square are almost as jaw-dropping as the real thing.

Facilities of Venetian Macau

The hotel casino has over 3,000 suites, 1.2 million square feet of convention space, three canals with gondolas, a Cirque du Soleil show, a 2,000-seat showroom, a 1.6 million square foot mall with over 250 retail outlets, a 550,000ft² casino (3,400 slots and 800 tables) and a facade that is three times the size of its sister hotel in Las Vegas. It also features the 85,000ft2 Malo Clinic Health and Wellness centre ,which includes a spa, a beauty lab, a clinic, and leisure and fitness centre. The hotel also features a main leisure area with multiple swimming pools and Jacuzzi.

Main Attractions of the Venetian Macau

Get Lost in the Biggest Casino in the World

The Venetian Macao is the biggest casino in the world. Fact. Forget those pretenders in Vegas and Atlantic City, the Venetian Macao has 550,000 square meters of dedicated gaming space. That means more than 800 gaming tables featuring everything from poker to fan-tan and 3,400 slot machines – known locally as hungry tigers. It’s said to be the 6th biggest building in the world.

Visit the Playboy Bunnies

After escaping their hutch at Hugh Heffner’s mansion, the Playboy Bunnies have made it to Asia and the Venetian Macao. The Bellini Lounge doubles as the Playboy Club and offers rocket fuelled cocktails, a live house band and a string of live events. If you’re thinking strip club, don’t; this is a classy lounge where the man on the saxophone is as important as the bunnies.

Be Serenaded by Real Gondoliers

The blockbuster attraction at the Venetian is its network of canals. Just like the canals at the original property in Las Vegas (or indeed in Venice itself), they are patrolled by gondolas manned by gondoliers warbling out tunes from the old country. The Venetian lays claim to authentic Italian gondoliers shipped in from Venice. Gondola rides run daily from 11am-10pm.

See the Sky

The painted sky that hangs over the Venetian Macao’s canals is truly breathtaking, so much so that many visitors are surprised that it’s not actually real. Yes, of course, you could just go outside and see the actual sky but in here you can enjoy the air conditioning.

Bend it Like Beckham

While the Manchester United Experience would actually be better named the Manchester United shop, there are a couple of reasons to visit if you’re a football fan. Amidst the Manchester United cookie jars and teapots for sale, you’ll also find some genuine Old Trafford memorabilia, and in the football fanatic zone you can show off your silky skills in a number of interactive games. The Venetian Macao has a long association with the red half of Manchester and the team were officially the resort’s first guests.
