Day 1 Shanghai Arrival

Welcome to Shanghai. Arrival in Shanghai, your tour guide will wait you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Then you can either explore the city by yourself or take a rest in the hotel.

Day 2 Shanghai

Sightseeing and Activities: Yu Garden, Yuyuan Market, Shanghai World Financial Center, Nanjing Road, Bund, optional Acrobatic Show

After breakfast, we will first visit Yuyuan Garden and Yuyuan Market. Yu Yuan Garden(or Yun Garden) is a famous classical garden located in Anren Jie, Shanghai. It abuts the Yuyuan Market. Then we will stop at Shanghai World Financial Center to have a panoramic view of the whole Shanghai and Huangpu River area.

Finally we will stroll across the famous Nanjing Road and the Bund. In the evening, enjoy an optional Acrobatic Show.

Day 3 Shanghai – Beijing

Sightseeing and Activities: Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, Jade Buddha Temple

Today we will end our Shanghai tour and take the G train to Beijing in the afternoon. Before leaving, visit Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, the first kind of exhibition center in China showcasing a city’s development and the Jade Buddha Temple, which is a venerable and famous Buddhist temple built in 1928. If you’re lucky, you can watch the monks serving a ceremony in a side room.

Upon arrival in Beijing, tour guide will pick you up from train station and then transfer you to your hotel. Feel free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 4 Beijing

Sightseeing and Activities: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace

Tiananmen Square in Beijing

We will start the tour form the center of the city – Tiananmen Square. Go north through the square and you will reach the Forbidden City. As the largest and best-preserved ancient wooden structure in the world, it has more than 8,000 pavilions and thousands of historic treasures. Then enjoy the lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the Summer Palace , which used to be the summer resort for royal families and emperors. Then have an optional fantastic Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theatre in the evening.

Day 5 Beijing

Sightseeing and Activities: Badaling Great Wall, Ming Tomb

Get up early to visit Mutianyu Great Wall. Great Wall is one of the greatest architecture projects in human history. Then move on to Ming Tomb, where 13 emperors and their wives of the Ming Dynasty were buried. See the appearance of Bird’s Nest on the way to your hotel at a distance.

Day 6 Beijing

Sightseeing and Activities: Beihai Park, Beijing Hutongs, Lama Temple, Confucius Temple, Guozijian

After breakfast, enjoy the charming scenery of Beihai Park, the former imperial garden first built in the 11th century. The structures and scenes in the Beihai Park are described as masterpieces of gardening technique. Then take a rickshaw to experience Beijing Hutongs and pay a visit to a local family living in the Hutongs. Have lunch at the family.

In the afternoon, move on to the Lama Temple, a holy place for Tibetan Buddhism left by Emperor Yongzheng. Then, take a 10-minute walk to the Confucius Temple, the second largest Confucian Temple in China, after the one in Confucius’ hometown of Qufu. The last stop is Guozijian, the national central institute of learning in ancient Chinese dynasties.

Day 7 Beijing Departure

In the morning, we will visit Temple of Heaven – the royal altar of the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Then your Beijing tour will end. Your guide will escort you to the airport for your flight to the next destination.
