Zhengzhou transportaiton by air mainly introduces the brief information of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, as well as airport transportation, domestic flights and international flights. At present, the major airport in Zhengzhou serving passengers is Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, which one of the eight major regional airports in China. On August 28, 1997, Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport was completed and opened to traffic. In January 2014, the second-phase renovation and expansion project started construction. On December 22, 2015, Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport phase II expansion project was put into operation. On January 7, 2016, the second runway of Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport was opened. On March 30, 2016, the renovation of terminal T1 was suspended and all flights were moved to terminal T2 for operation. As of December 2018, Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport owns 55 passenger airlines, 208 passenger routes and 116 navigable cities for passengers. There are domestic flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Sanya, Hangzhou and other places, as well as international flights to Hong Kong, Macao, Taipei, London, Phuket Island, Seoul, Tokyo, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and other places.

Airport Transportation

The transportation between Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport and downtown area is convenient. Travellers can take the airport bus, city bus, metro and taxi from the airport to Zhengzhou city center. What’s more, there are also inter-city trains departing from the airport to some other districts and counties in Zhengzhou, as well as some surrounding cities, like Kaifeng and Jiaozuo.

Intercity Railway

Zhengzhou-Xinzheng Airport intercity railway, also known as Zhengzhou airport express line, is an inter-city railway connecting Zhengzhou East Railway Station and Xinzheng International Airport. It was officially put into use on December 31, 2015. In addition, Xinzheng Airport-Zhengzhou South Railway Station intercity railway, Zhengdengluo(Zhengzhou-Dengfeng-Luoyang) intercity railway and Zhengzhou-Xuchang intercity railway are under construction and have not yet been opened. In the future, it will be possible to travel directly from the airport to Dengfeng, Luoyang and Xuchang by train.

Metro/Subway

It is most convenient to take the subway from the airport to the city center and the railway stations, and the operation time is approximately from 6:00 to 22:00. Passengers can take Zhengzhou Metro suburban line, located in airport comprehensive transfer center, to the urban area of Zhengzhou.

Taxi

The starting price of blue taxis licensed by Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport is 10 yuan within 2 kilometers, 2 yuan per kilometer is charged after 2 kilometers. The starting price for green taxis is 8 yuan, and 1.5 yuan per kilometer is charged after 2 kilometers. Passengers can take the taxi on the south side of the corridor connecting Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport Comprehensive Transfer Center (GTC) and T2 Terminal.
