Sheshan National Tourism Resort has the only natural mountain forest resources on the land of Shanghai. Sheshan National Forest Park

It was named one of the first AAAA tourist attractions by the National Tourism Administration. It has four tourist attractions: East Sheshan Park, West Sheshan Park, tianmashan Park and Little Kunshan Park.

East Sheshan Park

There are many animals and plants here. There are wild sika deer, pangolin scales and about 100 kinds of birds. In addition, there are about 2,000 kinds of plants, such as camphor trees and bamboo.

The main scenic spots here are bird center, butterfly garden, plant fossil forest and magic cave. There is also an amusement cable car called “simulated ski resort sled”. There is also a tower 22.4 meters high (about 73 feet) on the south peak, which is a good place for tea and sightseeing.

West Sheshan Park

West Sheshan also has many scenic spots. Sheshan Notre Dame Church is the largest church in Southeast Asia and is also a landmark building in Sheshan. Sheshan Observatory is one of the earliest and largest observatories in China. Astronomy Museum is the national science education base. Seismic station is one of the earliest seismic research institutions. The tower on the hillside is also one of Sheshan’s famous historical sites. The newly built bamboo park is a place for recreation, extreme sports and fitness.

Tianmashan (Heaven Horse Mountain) Park

Tianmashan (tianmashan), located in the southeast of Sheshan, is the largest and highest mountain in Sheshan. Generally speaking, it looks like a powerful horse about to fly, so it is called tianmashan. It is said that Ganjiang River (a skilled swordsman in the Spring and Autumn Period) used to build swords here, so it is also called “Ganshan”. In ancient times, tianmashan was a Buddhist resort where worshippers burned incense to Buddha, so it was also called “Mount Shao Xiang”.

The Huzhu Tower in tianmashan has a history of more than 900 years, with an inclination of 6 51′ 52 “,surpassing the Leaning Tower of Pisa and becoming an excellent scenic spot in Shanghai.

Xiaokunshan Park

Xiao Kunshan Park is built on Xiao Kunshan. The first is called’ Kunshan’. Later generations added the word “small” to distinguish it from Kunshan. Because it looks like a curled-up bull from a distance, Xiaokunshan is also called “Niutoushan”.

This is the hometown of famous writers Lu Ji and Lu Yun in the Western Jin Dynasty. The park shows their reading station and thatched cottage.

Best Time to Travel Sheshan National Holiday Resort

The best travel time is spring and autumn, usually March-may and September-November.

Catkin, peach blossom and flying warbler are most suitable for outing in the suburbs in spring. Peach Blossoms in Nanhui, Cherry Blossoms in Gu Village Park and Tulips in Shanghai’s Fresh Flower Port are in full bloom. They are the best time to enjoy flowers. Autumn with red leaves all over the sky is the best time to taste hairy crabs. The so-called “autumn wind is ringing and crab legs itch”. At this time, hairy crabs have yellow legs, thick crab fat and beautiful crab meat, which make people drool.
