Xilamuren Grassland, about 90 kilometers to the downtown area of Hohhot, is the earliest grassland to have been developed as a tourism attraction in Inner Mongolia. During this tour, we will visit Xilamuren Grassland, Xiangshawan, Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, Hohhot city, etc.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Hohhot Arrival

Sightseeing and Activities:Hohhot arrival
Accommodation: Hohhot
Meals: none

Pick you up at Hohhot airport. Then transfer to hotel. 

Day 2 Hohhot-Xilamuren Grassland

Sightseeing and Activities: Xilamuren Grassland, Large-scale Performance, Bonfire party
Accommodation: Yurt
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Xilamuren Grassland in Hohhot

Have breakfast at hotel, then pass mountain Yin and arrive at Xilamuren grassland. There will be a small welcome ceremony when you arrive – drinking ceremony. Free time or you can ride horse(optional). Go to Honggeer Aobao hill, the biggest alter at local to watch Large-scale Performance – legend of south grassland. There are more than 70 horses and actors join in, with the solemn music. You can truely feel everything at that time. Dinner would be the best banquet of Mongolian – Zhama banquet. Then enjoy the Bonfire party.

Day 3 Xilamuren Grassland-Erdos

Sightseeing and Activities: Dalate pass Yellow River, Xiangshawan desert
Accommodation: Erdos
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Have breakfast at hotel, then leave for Dalate Pass Yellow River on the way. Have lunch there and go to Kubuqi desert(inclusive entry ticket and cable car), take the cable car to Xiangshawan desert and join the activities such as camel riding, sand surfing car, zip line, motor car, performance, etc.

Day 4 Erdos—Dalate

Sightseeing and Activities: Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, Kangbashi city tourism area
Accommodation: Dalate
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, go to Mausoleum of Genghis Khan, which is also like a Mongolian culture theme park. After lunch go to Kangbashi city tourism area to see Erdos Mongolian wedding park, city square, and Mongolian style buildings. Stay overnight at Dalate.

Day 5 Dalate – Hohhot

Sightseeing and Activities: Wudangzhao, General’s government office
Accommodation: Hohhot
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Wudangzhao in Baotou

Have hotel breakfast, then leave for Wudangzhao, one of The Four most famous Tibetan Buddhism temple, which is the largest Tibetan Buddhism temple in Inner Mongolia. It is equally famous with the Potala Palace. Go back to Huhhot after lunch, and continue to visit General’s government office where is the living place and office for the highest level officer.

Day 6 Hohhot Departure

Sightseeing and Activities: Dazhao Temple, Inner Mongolia museum
Accommodation:
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Dazhao Temple in Hohhot

Have hotel breakfast, then leave for a Tibetan Buddhism temple and also a royal temple – Dazhao Temple. See the 3 treasures(silver Buddha, dragon sculptures, painting). Continue to visit Inner Mongolia museum including North peoples’ culture and history, dinosaur fossils, spaceflights. Tour ends.
