Main Attractions in Sanshui Forest Park
Golden Reclining Buddha (三水金装大卧佛)
Located at Tianxian Rock (天仙岩), the Golden Reclining Buddha is inspired by a legend that the Buddhist master Huineng (六祖惠能) passed through here one night and saw a glowing light from Tianxian Rock. He believed that the large rock before him resembled a reclining Buddha. The statue was then created based on this vision, using the Dunhuang Reclining Buddha as a model. The Buddha statue stretches 108 meters, making it the largest of its kind in the world. After renovations, the Buddha is now encased in copper, earning it the name “Golden Reclining Buddha.”
Han-Tibetan Buddhist Cultural Art Hall (三水汉藏佛文化艺术殿堂)
This hall is located behind Tianxian Rock (天仙岩) and represents the fusion of Han and Tibetan Buddhist cultures. The architecture follows the style of Tibetan temples. The precious statue of the Buddha brought by Princess Wencheng (文成公主) during her journey to Tibet is enshrined here as the temple’s treasure.
Confucius Temple (广东孔庙) – Kong Sheng Yuan (孔圣园)
The Confucius Temple is the largest in Southern China and is located in the northeast corner of the park. It is designed to resemble the Confucius Temple in Qufu (曲阜), Shandong. Visitors can enter through the Lingxing Gate (棂星门), leading to the Hall of Great Achievement (大成殿), where a large statue of Confucius (孔子) is displayed along with 72 statues of his disciples. Visitors can also enjoy musical performances featuring ancient bells and chimes.
Emotionless Valley (无情谷)
The valley is situated near the southern entrance of the park, close to the Sanshui Era Tower (三水纪元塔). Its name comes from the famous Chinese poem “East of the sun, west of the rain, it seems cold but is full of emotion” (东边日出西边雨,道是无情却有情). The valley is filled with lush greenery, diverse plant species, and a peaceful, serene environment. It features a walking path, rest pavilions, and ample space for relaxation and connection with nature.

Located near Emotionless Valley, Mandarin Duck Lake is surrounded by lush trees, with the tranquil waters reflecting the surrounding hills and the changing colors of the sky. The lake features scenic spots such as pebble beaches, ancient wells, fishing spots, and bridges, adding to the romantic atmosphere. At night, the moonlight, lake, and lighting combine to create a charming environment, making it a popular spot for couples.
Declaration Square (宣言广场)
Situated in the center of Mandarin Duck Lake, this square faces the mountains and is a grand and impressive space designed for entertainment, meetings, and leisure. The square features a significant stone called the Declaration Stone (宣言石), symbolizing the love declarations of couples as well as the park’s environmental and developmental commitments. In addition, the square includes totem poles, large garden areas, and an outdoor stage where visitors can enjoy large cultural performances during festivals.
