Why is Jindao Gorge Scenic Area so Special?
It is 90km away from the center of Chongqing and 62km away from Beibei. The Golden Sword Gorge is a national 4A tourist attraction. The main scenic spots include Tibetan Sword Cave, Zhongxia Natural Bathing Beach, Shitou Gorge, Maitreya Buddha, etc. The scenic spot has the characteristics of gorge danger, mountain grandeur, water show, numerous waterfalls, pond blue, etc.
History of scenic spots
Legend has it that there is a golden knife in the gorge. at night, golden light shines on the gorge, hence the name of the golden knife gorge.
At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, there was a strong man named Zhang Kun under Huaying Mountain. He lived on firewood in his early years and frequented the deep forests of Huaying Mountain. One day, Zhang Kun was lost in a canyon. When the moon was full that night, the soft moonlight streamed gently into the gorge. Zhang Kun was intoxicated with this scene. he saw something in the deep of the gorge shining golden under the moonlight. Zhang Kun looked closer and saw that it was a gold knife inserted into the rock of the gorge wall. He drew his sword forward and did not want the golden sword embedded in the stone seam to be pulled out gently. Zhang Kun was overjoyed: a golden sword from heaven will surely be my responsibility. With this knife, Zhang Kun cut through all kinds of difficulties and finally got out of the gorge.
Then he took part in the war and won. Since then, “Zhang Jindao” has become famous in Hainei. In memory of General Zhang, people in Zhang Kun’s hometown called the Zhangkun Debao Gorge the Golden Sword Gorge.
Geographical environment

Panic platform
Entering the mountain gate, one can see a platform about 5 meters long and 3 meters wide after walking for about 5 minutes. standing on the platform and looking down the cliff, one really feels shocked. tourists with acrophobia should never walk past. According to legend, during the War of Liberation, the old woman with two guns sent her team to rescue the captured communists. As a result, she failed and was chased by the enemy. She ran out of ammunition and food. A line of more than 10 of them jumped down the cliff arm in arm and died bravely. The enemy was scared out of her wits, hence the name of the panic station.
Flying waterfall in the sky
On the right side of Xiakou on the Golden Sword Gorge, the cliff turns into a towering cliff. A silvery-white spring falls from the sky alongside the majestic mountain. The waterfall is about 150 meters high and 10 meters wide. There is a square cave on the left side of the waterfall mouth. It is impossible to know when and why anyone chiseled it. According to a local 100-year-old man, there was a remote road who had been practicing here for many years and later became immortal. At noon in a rainy Chu Qing, he drove away in a rainbow. He also said that the White Lotus Sect was also taking part in this activity.

Located on the right side of the middle of the lower section of the Golden Sword Gorge, he looks at the Buddha from the stack. He is topless and has a wide smile. He seems to be repeating his famous saying: “He who laughs at all funny things in the world always laughs at all funny things in the world. He who has a big belly cannot tolerate anything in the world.” In direct sunlight, there is a seven-color rainbow across the Buddha’s body, which is called Buddha’s light appearing. According to Buddhist scriptures, if you encounter Buddha’s light, you will have good luck.

How to get there
1. Take the high-speed bus from Nanping long-distance bus station to Beibei to the terminal station, and change to bus No.22 directly to Jindaoxia.
2. Take the high-speed bus 502 to Beibei across from Jie Fangbei’s Chongbin to the terminal and change to bus 22 to reach Jindaoxia.
3. Take the high-speed bus opposite Shapingba No.8 Middle School to Beibei to the terminal station and change to bus No.22 which goes directly to Jindaoxia.
4. Take the high-speed bus to Beibei at the gate of Yangjiaping Institute of Technology to the terminal and transfer to bus 22 to reach Jindaoxia.
5. Take the high-speed bus from Dadukou bus station to Beibei to the terminal station and change to bus No.22 to reach Jindaoxia.
6. Take the high-speed bus from Carrefour to Beibei at Guanyinqiao to the terminal and change to bus 22 to reach Jindaoxia.
7. Chongqing Rail Transit Line 6 goes to Beibei and transfers to bus 22 which goes directly to Jindaoxia.
8. Take the Beibei-Jindaoxia bus at the Beibei bus station [the bus can reach the entrance of Shangxia scenic spot directly].
9. Guiyang sets out-enters Chongqing via Qijiang River-from Jieshi to Chongqing Inner Ring Expressway-passes through Donghuan Interchange-passes through Beihuan Interchange to Chongqing-Wuhan Expressway-passes through Beibei Tunnel and then 1.0km to go around the city expressway-heading for Yuzui-under the exit of Shuitu and Jindaoxia-watch-Liu Yin-Pianyan Ancient Town-Jindaoxia Upper Mouth.
10. Wanzhou sets out-goes to Chongqing-goes around the city on Yuzui Expressway to Beibei-under the exit of Shuitu and Jindaoxia-watch-Liu Yin-Pianyan Ancient Town-Jindaoxia Upper Mouth.
11. Dazhou set out-enter Chongqing via Linshui, and drive on Chaoyang Temple in the direction of Beibei on the Chongqing roundabout highway-under the exit of Shuitu and Jindaoxia-watch carefully-Liu Yin-Pianyan ancient town-the upper mouth of Jindaoxia.
