Why is Jiaxiu Pavilion so Special?
The Jiaxiu Building has three floors above and below, with white stones as columns, which are collected layer by layer. It is about 20 meters high from the bridge deck to the roof. Nanming River flows through the front of the building and merges into Han Bitan. The side of the building is connected to the two sides by the stone arch “floating jade bridge”. The original small pavilion on the bridge is called “Han Bi Pavilion”. Zhu Liangbiwa of Jiaxiu Building, surrounded by water and mountains, and be worthy of the name, can be called Jiaxiu
In 2006, as a part of “Wenchang Pavilion and Jiaxiu Building”, Jiaxiu Building was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit.
Historical evolution
The Jiaxiu Building was built in 1598, the 26th year of the Ming Dynasty, and has a history of more than 400 years.
Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, jiaxiulou has been a gathering place for scholars and poets. there are many high-ranking scholars and scholars who chant. In the collection of ancient authentic stone carvings, wooden dishes and famous paintings and calligraphy works in the building, the 206-character couplet written by Liu Yushan, an academician of Guiyang in the Qing dynasty is a unique skill, 26 more than the long couplet of kunming sun ran Jian grand view building, which claims to be the longest couplet in the world.
Appearance structure
The Jiaxiu Building is a three-story pyramidal roof with three eaves and four corners. It is 22.9 meters high. The stone pillars are supported by eaves and protected by white carved stone railings. The floating jade bridge has nine holes.
This structure is unique in the history of ancient Chinese architecture.
Cultural significance
Inside Cuiwei Pavilion, Xiao Xian’s calligraphy exhibition hall has been opened. Xiao Xian is from Guiyang. She is Kang Youwei’s disciple and is a famous female calligrapher in contemporary China. Please look at her handwriting, which shows her sales performance in a grand style, expressing the hospitality of Guizhou people. Visitors from all over the world are welcome to visit Jiaxiulou in Guizhou.
