Yibin Transportation

Yibin is a transportation hub in southern Sichuan province, which is famous for its comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network of water, land and air. It is connected by four high-speed railways, 12 highways and 17 air routes. Besides, there are more than 10 rivers cruising in Yibin with a 96.3 km cruising range. Yibin is also connected to Chongqing and Chengdu by rail and express highway. Yibin's proximity to Yunnan and Guizhou borders also means that transportation to the provinces is available by rail and by bus. 

How to Get to Yibin

By Air

Yibin Caiba Airport offers flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Hangzhou, Kunming, Lhasa, Sanya, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xi'an and Yichang. Located in the town of Caiba in Cuiping District, the airport is a dual-use military and civil airport serving the city of Yibin. The new Yibin Wuliangye Airport is scheduled to put into service in July 2019, with a 30 percent increase in air routes and more international routes.

By Bus

There are 12 expressways intersecting at Yibin. More are under construction and to be constructed. There are four main bus stations serving in the city proper: The New Bus Station, Beimen (North Gate) Bus Station, Ximen (West Gate) Bus Station and Nan'an Bus Station. Beimen (North Gate) Bus Station and Ximen (West Gate) Bus Station has daily long-distance bus to Sichuan province and other major cities in China. Tourists can take the bus to Chengdu, Chongqing, Zhaotong, etc. 

By Rail

Yibin city has many railway lines, which will be completed by 2020, thus becoming the railway hub of southern Sichuan. At present, Neijiang-Kunming railway is in use and Chengdu-Guiyang High-speed Railway is under construction. After Chengdu-Guiyang High-speed Railway completion, it will only take about 1 hour from Chengdu to Yibin. 

By Water

Because the Jinsha river and Minjiang river converged into Yangtze River here, so Yibin is also called “the first city along the Yangtze river”. Travellers can take the passenger ferry from Leshan to Yibin, or travel to Yibin from Luzhou and Chongqing by water.

How to Get Around Yibin

By Bus

Nan'an Bus Station has regular buses running to Shunan Bamboo Forest, Gongxian (Bo people's Coffin) and Xingwen Stone Forest. There are buses heading to Pingshan Scenic Area at Ximen(West Gate) Bus Station. Shihai Dongxiang and the Bamboo Sea are not far away from each other, and about one hour is needed by bus. Besides, you can also take the city buses getting around this city.

By Taxi

There are 5 taxi companies in Yibin, with 982 taxis in the downtown area. Taxi call: 0831-8188311. The fare is 4 Yuan (1 kilometer), and the mileage standard is 1.6 yuan per kilometer for a 1.6-displacement taxi, 1.7 Yuan per kilometer for a 1.8-displacement taxi with a blue sticker and 1.7 yuan per kilometer for a green sticker. 

By Sharing Bike

It is the best choice to ride a bike around the city to appreciate the scenery. There are many dockless bikes on the streets of Yibin. To download bike sharing apps and finish the ID verification procedure, you can use these bikes. Usually CNY 0.5 - 1 for every 30 minutes.
