Why is Chengdu Botanical Garden So Special?

In 1990, the garden was listed as one of the top eight landscapes in Chengdu, and was named ‘Embodied Treasures in a Green Sea’. The plants in the Chengdu Botanical Garden exceed 2,000 species, including over 1,000 species of woody plants and 800 species of horticultural plants. The green vegetation in the park is very dense. It is very good to stop and go and watch the flowers and trees. You can camp on the big lawn in the park, and get close to nature with your family. It is very pleasant. Flying a kite on the lawn is also a good choice. You can also go to the tea room to have a tea chat and relax.

Where is Chengdu Botanical Garden?

Covering a total area of 42 hectares (104 acres), the Chengdu Botanical Garden is about 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of the city proper. The Botanical Garden is located in Tianhui Town, the northern suburb of Chengdu.

Flower Appreciating Area

The Flower Appreciating Area in the western section of the garden consists of many exclusive gardens, including Plum Blossom Garden, Cherry Garden, Magnolia Garden, Crabapple Garden, Osmanthus Garden, Camellia Garden, Conifer Garden, Pear Garden, Cotton Rose Garden, Bamboo Groves, and Vine Garden. A Spring Flower Show is held annually from early March to early April. Visitors can see a great variety of flowers in full blossom. It is also the most ideal time for a visit to Chengdu Botanical Garden.

Scientific Research Area

Chengdu Botanical Garden has 8 special plant areas, 6 kinds of first-class protected plants can be find here. Over the past 20 years since the establishment of Chengdu botanical garden, more than 50 scientific research projects have been completed, and the research on plants has reached the international and domestic leading level here. It is an ideal place to go if you want to learn something about plant.
