Why is Baydur Site So Special?
On the memorial archway are written eight Chinese words: “共尊汉室，同拒匈奴”, which means “commonly respect the Han Dynasty, and resist Hun tribes”. As to its identification, there are two standpoints. The first, it was built by a king of Shache Kingdom in the Western Han times. The second, it was the place where the kingdoms of Qiuzi, Wensu, Gumo, Pishan, and Yutian formed the alliance after the Protect-marquis Feng Fengshi of the Western Han Dynasty put down the rebellion launched by both a younger brother of the king of Shache and the Tongpu Duwei General of Hun.
Where is Baydur Site
The Baydur Site is located 3 meters to the southeast of the county seat of Shache County. There are pavilions and decorated archways in the site, which were repaired in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty.
History of Baydur Site
It is said that Feng Feng Shi, the Wei Hou of the Western Han Dynasty, after pacifying the rebellion launched by the king of shache and a surname, a child servant of the Huns, joined forces with Qiuzi, Wen Su, Gu Mo, Khotan, and Pishan countries to form an alliance here, hence the name Jian Meng Tai. At that time, after the death of King shache, he wrote to the emperor Ganlong requesting that princess jieyou’s son be sent to shache to be king in ten thousand years. After obtaining the consent of the emperor Ganlong, he came to shache to be king in ten thousand years. Because he missed his parents and hoped that the people of the Yierqiang Khanate would be rich, he built this praying platform in the village of Bayiduwa to pray for the prosperity of the Yierqiang Khanate and the safety of his family.

Kashgar region is located in the central Asian abdomen, restricted by geographical environment, and belongs to the continental arid climate zone of warm temperate zone. The territory has four distinct seasons, long illumination, large annual and daily temperature changes, little precipitation and vigorous evaporation. Summer is hot, but the period of hot summer is short. Winter is not cold, but the low temperature period is long, so it is suitable to travel in late spring and late summer.
