Wu Gorge of Yangtze River
Wu Gorge sometimes called Great Gorge, is the second gorge of the Three Gorges of Yangtze River. It stretches 45 km (28 mi) from from the estuary of Daning River and ends at Guandukou in Badong, Hubei Province. The gorge straddles the boundary between Wushan County of Chongqing Municipality (formerly part of Sichuan Province) and Badong County, Hubei Province. The gorge is known for its deep valleys and forest covered mountains. Wu Gorge is a long and neat gorge divided into two sections – the Golden Helmet and Silver Armor Gorge and the Iron Coffin Gorge.

Main Attractions of Wu Gorge

The famous natural sceneries and attractions include: Twelve Peaks (十二峰), Goddess Peak (神女峰), Wushan Hill (巫山), Dadong (巴东), Zigui (秭归), Fragrant Stream (香溪), Daning River (大宁河), etc.
Twelve Peaks
Along the Wu Gorge, there are twelve peaks on each bank. Among the twelve, the Goddess Peak is the highest and most notable. As it is the first peak to welcome the sun’s glow and says farewell to its afterglow, it is also called Wangxia Peak. The six peaks along the northern bank are Denglong Peak, Shengquan Peak, Zhaoyun Peak, Shennu Peak, Songluan Peak, and the Jixian Peak. The southern bank has Feifeng Peak, Cuiping Peak, Juhe Peak, Jingtan Peak, Qiyun Peak, and Shangsheng Peak; the last three are not at the riverside.

Stand in the pavilion, view all the scenery, you can see mountains pinnacle, great river, the mountain breeze stroke makes people relaxed and happy. In Badang, the most famous scenery is Shennong Stream, if you have time you can try drifting Shennong Stream.
