5 Days Miao’s New Year Festival Tour in Guizhou
Guizhou Province, southwest China, is one of the most prominent and populated Miao Villages within the Province. Miao’s New Year Festival is the biggest and most important festival of the Miao people that is equal to the Spring Festival of Han people. It kicks off on November 10th, and lasts for a week, of which the first three days are the best time to attend the festival.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Guiyang Arrival

Upon your arrival, tour guide will pick you up from airport or train station and then transfer to your hotel in Guiyang city. Free and easy time for you to explore this city. If time permits, stroll on Jiaxiu Pavillion, the landmark of Guiyang. It offers stunning panoramic view of the surroundings.
Day 2 Guiyang – Kaili
Sightseeing and Activities: Qingman Miao Village, Langdeshang Miao Village
Accommodation: Kaili
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
In the morning, drive 2.5 hours to Kaili. We will visit Qingman Miao Village first, which is located about 25 km southwest of Kaili City. See the Miao ladies dressed in their beautiful and colorful dresses along with their traditional headdresses and silver accessories.
Then, we will head to Langdeshang Miao Village. It preserves ancient buildings and local customs that have been practised by the Miao for hundreds of years.
After all the visit, drive back to Kaili.
Day 3 Kaili – Xijiang
Sightseeing and Activities: Xijiang Miao Village

In the morning, drive about an hour to Xijiang Miao Village, 80 kilometers away from Kaili, which is the largest Miao village in Asia. There are 12 natural villages, 1200 families and 6000 people, who dwell in wooden houses built by their hands.
Appreciate an amazing view of the nature and experience the local life here. Then drive back to Kaili.
Day 4 Kaili – Leishan
Sightseeing and Activities: Miao New Year Festivals and Celebrations

In the morning, drive about an hour to Leishan County to particapate in the Miao’s New Year Festivals and Celebrations which will take place throughout the day in the city. There is an hour-long parade in early afternoon and an exhibition on intangible heritage of the Miao people later. It is an great opportunity to learn their rich culture.
After all those activities, drive back to Kaili.
Day 5 Guiyang Departure

Drive about 3 hours back to Guiyang for your flight or train. Service ends.
