Guizhou Festivals and Events
Like Yunnan, there are many minorities in Guizhou Province, including Miao, Dong, Buyi, Shui, Tujia, Zhuang and other ethnic minorities. Every year, different ethnic groups celebrate festivals in their own ways, giving tourists a very good chance to experience the unique ethnic costumes and tradition. 1. Miao's New Year Festival
Miao's New Year Festival is the biggest and most important festival of the Miao people that is equal to the Spring Festival of Han people. The Miao's New year is celebrated at different times of the year in different regions, usually from September to November in the Chinese lunar calendar. Most Miao people celebrate in the 10th month in the lunar calendar, and lasts for 5-15 days, of which the first three days are the best time to attend the festival.

2. Miao's Sister's Meal Festival
In China, Sisters' Meal Festival is an important festival for the Miao people. It's a celebration of love and spring. It is considered as the oldest "Valentine's Day" in China. It kicks off on the 15th day of the lunar 3rd month and lasts for 3 days(April 19-21, 2019). Sister's Meal Festival is mainly celebrated by Miao people in Qiandongnan, especially in Taijiang county and Jianhe County.

3. Lusheng Festival
The Lusheng Festival is the most influential festival of the Miao people. It features a lot of Miao ethnic activities, such as singing, bullfighting, horse racing, and dancing to the rhythm of the Lusheng. Two representative places of celebrating Lusheng Festival are Zhouxi Town in Qiandongnan(mainly in March) and Huangping County(in November).

4. The Dragon Canoe Festival
Dragon Canoe Festival is one of the four traditional festivals of the Miao minority. Large-scale traditional events are held during the festival, including dragon boat races, canoe race and after-race events like village feast.
