Best Time to Visit

Guizhou has a pleasant climate and is suitable for tourism throughout the year. The best time to travel in Guizhou is spring and autumn, especially from the March to May and September to October. Spring in Guizhou(March to May) is the rainy season. The summer in Guizhou is not too hot and the air is not dry. The hottest month is in July when the temperature changes from 22℃ to 25℃. The autumn in Guizhou is mild and pleasant, but there are still rainy days. Winter is the longest season in four seasons, it's not too cold. Temperature in January(the coldest month) ranges from 3℃ to 6℃. If you are interested in ethnic customs and culture, the best time to travel is in spring, at that time, many local festivals are celebrated.

Dressing Tip

The temperature difference in spring(especially in May) is large between daytime and nights. The weather is cold in the morning and evening, but hot at noon. So thin coat and long-sleeve T-shirt are needed. Generally, in Guizhou, you can wear T-shirt in the summer time, and you should put on thick coat and sweater in winter.

2. Most areas of Guizhou are in mountains and hills, so the ultraviolet is relatively strong, protective measures are essential, such as using sunscreen, wearing sunglasses and sun hats, etc.

Altitude Sickness

Altitude sickness usually occurs on the highlands above an altitude of 3,000 meters. The landform of Guizhou is dominated by plateaus and mountains, with an average elevation of about 1100 meters, having no strong altitude reaction. So you don\'t have to worry too much about altitude sickness.
