Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1: Chengdu – Xiling Snow Mountain (L)

Upon arrival in Chengdu, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel, airport, or train station and drive you about 2 hours to Xiling Snow Mountain, known as the “Oriental Alps.” This mountain boasts the Xiling Ski Resort, the largest alpine ski resort in Southern and Western China. Here, you can indulge in a variety of snow activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiles, snow tubing, and more.

  • Skiing: Experience the thrill of skiing at 2,200 meters in a pristine snow-covered environment.
  • Snow ATV/Snowmobiling: Take an ATV or snowmobile for a ride over the white snow, leaving your mark with thrilling speed.
  • Snow Tubing: Enjoy a fun and thrilling ride down the snowy trails on a tube.

After a day of snowy adventures, check into your hotel on the mountain for a restful night.

Wearing Tips: Bring thick clothes like down jackets, scarves, gloves, and warm layers. Sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended to protect your eyes and skin from the cold and sun.

Day 2: Xiling Snow Mountain – Anren Ancient Town – Chengdu (B, L)

After a hearty breakfast, continue to enjoy the snow activities at Xiling Ski Resort. Then, take the cable car up to Riyueping (Sun and Moon Platform) at 3,260 meters for more natural views. Here, you’ll see a breathtaking sea of clouds and a panoramic view of surrounding mountains, including the distant peaks of Mount Emei and Daxuetang Snow Peak.

Next, travel to Anren Ancient Town, home to 27 historic mansions from the Republic of China period. Visit the Liu Family Mansion, the largest and most well-preserved mansion complex, showcasing a fusion of Western and traditional Sichuan architectural styles. Wander the old streets, where locals enjoy their leisure time, playing mahjong, knitting, and enjoying the sunshine.

After the visit, return to Chengdu for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Chengdu (B, L)

Today, visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, home to over 100 pandas. Take a leisurely walk through bamboo-lined paths and observe the pandas eating bamboo, playing, and interacting with each other. Don’t miss the chance to see mother pandas nursing their cubs in the nursery rooms. The Panda Museum will also provide insightful information about the species and conservation efforts.

After the pandas, head to Wenshu Temple, a serene Buddhist temple offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Marvel at the intricate Buddhist architecture and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

Next, experience the leisurely pace of Chengdu by visiting People’s Park, where locals enjoy various forms of entertainment like teahouses, dancing, and traditional massages. Conclude the day at Jinli Old Street, a lively area filled with delicious local snacks, crafts, and traditional folk performances.

Day 4: Chengdu Departure (B)

On the final day of your tour, your guide will escort you to the airport or train station for your departure. You may have some free time to relax or explore the nearby areas before your journey home.

Extend your adventure by becoming a panda keeper at one of the panda bases in Dujiangyan, Bifengxia, or Wolong. You’ll have the rare opportunity to get close to the pandas and contribute to their care and conservation efforts.

Discover two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei. These cultural and natural treasures are just a short drive from Chengdu. Visit the world’s largest pre-modern Buddha statue in Leshan and take in the stunning views of Mount Emei. You can enjoy a boat ride to view the Buddha and explore the magnificent landscape on the mountain, including sea of clouds, sunset, and sunrise.

+3 Days: Visit the Fairytale Land of Jiuzhaigou

Jiuzhaigou is a mesmerizing national park known for its colorful waterscapes. Take a short flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou and explore Huanglong National Park’s travertine ponds and Five-Color Ponds. The next day, visit Jiuzhaigou’s three beautiful valleys. This extension offers a magical experience of nature’s beauty.
