Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Kunming Arrival
Sightseeing and Activities:
Accommodation: Kunming
Meals:
Upon arrival, met by tour guide and transferred to you hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.
Day 2 Kunming – Dali
Sightseeing and Activities: Stone Forest, Birds and Flower Market, Green Lake
Accommodation: on the train
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Breakfast at hotel, our tour guide and drive will pick you up from your hotel and then drive about 85km to the Stone Forest, a notable set of limestone formations and two parts of which have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst. Besides, Stone Forest is also famous for the ethnic culture of the Sani People (a branch of the Yi ethnicminority).
After the visit, drive back to Kunming and visit Birds and Flower Market. Then continue the tour to Green Lake, strolling around the lake, watching locals do dancing and making music.
In the evening, transferred to Kunming Railway Station for the overnight train to Dali(Reference train No.: K9626 23:30-06:42+1, soft sleeper(four-berth compartment).
Day 3 Dali
Sightseeing and Activities: Xizhou morning market, Zhoucheng village, Three Pagodas, Erhai Lake cruise, Dali Old Town

Arrive at Dali Railway station in the early morning. Upon arrival, meet the tour guide & driver at the railway station and then head to the hotel to drop off the luggage.
After that, start today’s tour with Xizhou and experience Xizhou morning market. Xizhou has been historically important as a trading post along the Tea Horse Road. The next stop is Zhoucheng village, where we will visit the typical Bai building and get to know the famous Bai tie-dying.
In the afternoon, continue the tour to Three Pagodas of the Chongsheng Temple – a symbol of the Dali City and then take a cruise on Erhai Lake. Erhai Lake, the largest highland lake next to Dianchi, means “sea shaped like an ear” in Chinese.
The tour will end with Dali Old Town. Wander around the streets to experience the locla culture and have some local snacks. Located between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, Dali Old Town is a historic town with rich culture, which attracts many visitors every year.
Day 4 Dali – Lijiang
Sightseeing and Activities: Black Dragon Pool, Lijiang Old Town

Breakfast at hotel and explore this town at leisure until being transferred to Lijiang. Upon Lijiang arrival, head to visit Black Dragon Pool and walk along the river to Lijiang Old Town. With a history of more than 800 years, Lijiang Old Town was listed as the World Cultural Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1997. Black Dragon Pool offers a spectacular view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and also is home to the Dongba Culture Museum.
After the tour, drive to Baisha village and check in hotel.
Day 5 Lijiang
Sightseeing and Activities: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Shuhe Old Town

In the morning, our guide & driver will pick you up at the entrance of Lijiang Old town(Big Water Wheel) and head to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. About 15 kilometers from Lijiang Old Town, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the southernmost snowcapped mountain in the Northern Hemisphere. Upon arrival, visit the scenic spots of Ganhaizi Meadow, White Water River and the famous Yak Meadow.
In the afternoon, drive back to visit Shuhe Old Town – an important constituent parts of Lijiang Old Town. Shuhe Old Town is one of the earliest settlements of Naxi people’s ancestors and also a well-preserved town along the ancient tea-horse road.
Day 6 Lijiang – Shangri-La
Sightseeing and Activities: the First Bend of Yangtze River, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Dukezong Ancient Town, Guishan Hill, Grand Prayer Wheel

Breakfast at hotel and drive to Shangri-La city. Shangri-La is a great place to experience the spectacular landscape and profound Tibetan culture.
On the way, we will have a distant view of the First Bend of Yangtze River, and continue the trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge, which is one of the deepest gorges in the world. Then drive about 2 hours to Shangri-La. Upon arrival, check in hotel.
Later, stroll around Dukezong Ancient Town, a famous stop on the antient Tea-horse Trade Caravand. Then walk up to the top of Guishan Hill and see the largest Prayer Wheel of the world – Grand Prayer Wheel, where we can also have a panoramic view of Shangri-La city and Dukezong Ancient Town.
After the tour, back to hotel and have a good rest.
Day 7 Shangri-La
Sightseeing and Activities: Napa Lake, local Tibetan family visit, Songzanlin Monastery

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
After breakfast at hotel, head to visit Napa Lake. It is eight kilometers northwest of Shangri-La city where we can see the famous black-necked cranes and other birds. Then pay a visit to a local Tibetan family and learn about their daily life.
Later, move on to visit Songzanlin Monastery, the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan.
Day 8 Shangri-La – Lhasa

Today take the flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival, met by tour guide and transferred to your hotel. Have a good rest and get acclimatized to the high altitude in Tibet.
Day 9 Lhasa
Sightseeing and Activities: Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, Barkhor Street

After breakfast at hotel, the Lhasa tour begins with the must-see attraction – Potala Palace, the largest monastery of its type in the world and official home to Dalai Lama.
In the afternoon, move on to Jokhang Monastery and walk along the Barkhor Street nearby. Enjoy the local Tibetan culture here.
Day 10 Lhasa
Sightseeing and Activities: Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery

After breakfast at hotel, drive to visit Drepung Monastery – one of the three great monasteries in Tibet. Visit the biggest monastery kitchen inside the monastery and enjoy Buddhist Sculpture Carving workshop near Drepung.
In the afternoon, move on to another one of the “great three” Gelug university monasteries of Tibet – Sera Monastery. Visit Monks debate, Tibetan religious scripture printing house, three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha.
Day 11 Lhasa – Shigatse
Sightseeing and Activities: Yamdrok-tso Lake, Pelkor Monastery, Gyantse Kumbum

After breakfast, we will drive over the Gampala pass to Shigatse. On the way, have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso Lake – one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet, which is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams. Also have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar in the distance, the highest mountain near Lhasa.
Then pass the Korola Glacier and enjoy it on the roadside. After Gyantse arrival – Tibet’s third largest city, visit the Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum.
Continue the drive to Shigatse – the second largest city in Tibet.
Day 12 Shigatse – Everest Base Camp
Sightseeing and Activities: Rongbuk Monastery
Accommodation: tent or guesthouse
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today we will continue the drive westwards the Friendship way to Tingri and continue to Rongbuk Monastery – the highest monastery in the world.
Stay overnight at Tent or Guest House near to Rongbuk Monastery.
Day 13 Everest Base Camp – Shigatse
Sightseeing and Activities: sunrise, Rongbuk Monastery
Accommodation: Shigatse
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Get up early to enjoy the stunning sunrise of the peak. Then visit Rongbuk Monastery.
After the visit, drive back to Shigatse.
Day 14 Shigatse – Lhasa

Today we will follow the friendship Highway back to Lhasa, which will take about 6 hours.
