Why is Libo Zhangjiang So Special?

It is characterized by unique karst landscape, mysterious and dense forests, diverse biological species, magnificent overlapping mountains and clear rivers and lakes. Due to the well-preserved ecological environment, this area has been praised by Chinese and foreign experts as “a well-preserved green gem unmatched by any other karst area in the world”. As a famous tourist attraction, there are three main attractions to visit: xiaokong, dakong and shuichun river. The scenic area is characterized by rich and varied karst landforms, beautiful and peculiar scenery of Zhangjiang River, prosperous and dense primeval forests, and various rare species of animals and plants. It is the first world natural heritage site in Guizhou, integrating the unique natural scenery of mountains and rivers with the national characteristics of the local Buyi, Shui and Yao ethnic groups.

Main Attraction of Libo Zhangjiang

Xiaoqikong

Xiaogang Bridge is known as “Little Jiuzhaigou”. Xiaogang Bridge is famous for its seven arches and Xiaogang Bridge, which is a landmark building in Zhangjiang Scenic Area of Libo. It was built in 1835 on an important traffic road between ancient Qiannan City and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The bridge is 44 yards (40 meters) long, 2.4 yards (2.2 meters) wide and 6.0 yards (5.5 meters) high, showing exquisite structure and exquisite workmanship.

Due to continuous erosion, the xiaokong scenic spot has evolved into a deep v-shaped xiangshui valley, which is the birthplace of waterfalls. In the upper reaches of Xiangshui River, laya Falls seems to be connected to the top sky surrounded by clouds. Near laya Falls, a 68-grade waterfall flows randomly down a winding river less than 1 mile (2 kilometers). The Green Valley Falls in the lower reaches of Xiangshui River are surrounded by green mountains, which dye the water green.

In addition, water forest and stone forest are karst forest wonders in the Zhangjiang scenic area of Libo. Water forest on Xiangshui riverbed. Although submerged by fast-flowing water, they grow well. About 100 yards (91 meters) east of the water forest, there are a large number of insects in the rock forest. The roots of these plants extend wonderfully along the cracks in the rock.
Bridge

The bridge scenic spot is famous for the bridge, dream pool, natural bridge and yinfeng cave. Built in 1877, the bridge was an important trade route between Guizhou and Guangxi in ancient China. 550 yards (502 meters) northeast of the bridge is the downstream of Mengchi, where many kinds of fish are gathered. Once, the local people depended on fishing for a living, so the pond was always attracted by fishermen’s hope for a good harvest and the safety of their families. Today, dream pond is an ideal place for anglers.

Shuichun River

The Shuichun River is surrounded by overlapping mountains, just like a picture scroll. It is also a resort for drifting exploration. When drifting here, the blue and clear rivers provide a pleasant environment for tourists, the dense forests on both sides bring fresh air, and the alternation of fast and slow flow brings unforgettable drifting experience to tourists. The whole journey takes 3 hours.

Best Time to Travel Libo Zhangjiang

Qinnan does not have the best season, because traveling to Qinnan is suitable for all seasons.

Spring is the season when everything recovers. Jiuchongge is a national flower in southwest Guizhou, distributed in every corner of Qiannan. At this time, the weather in Qiannan is very good, and the climate is also very good. It’s good to see clouds in Wan Fenglin. Besides, the flowers in Qixiang Garden have already opened. You can enjoy them. Qiannan is in the rainy season in summer. Although the weather is not very good, it has become the Marin River Gorge. Due to abundant rainfall, hundreds of waterfalls have raced along the Marin River Gorge. At this time, the rice in Wan Fenglin has turned yellow and become a sea of golden flowers. When walking in the field, you can smell rice fragrance.

How To Get  There

  • If you set off from Guiyang City, you can take a train and get off at Mawei Station. Then take bus to the West Gate of Xiaoqikong. The bus departs from 7:50 to 15:20 every 1 hour. The ticket price is CNY 14 and the whole journey is about 50 minutes.

  • If you set off from Libo County, you can take a bus from Libo Long-distance Bus Station and get off at East Gate of Xiaoqikong. The ticket price is CNY 8 and the whole journey is about 40 minutes.
