Yanbian Transportation

Yanbian, an important tourist spot in Jilin, offers you many ways to get there, including aviation, railway, and highway. You can take plane to the main city of Yanbian, and then take trains to surrounding cities like Tumen, Hunchun, and Helong. And long-distance buses can take you to some landscapes such as Changbai Mountain, Tumen River, and ski resorts.  

How to Get to Yanbian

Airplane

There is only one important airport in Yanbian Prefecture, which is Yanji Chaoyangchuan International Airport. It has opened many international and domestic air routes, so you can take plain to Yanji first and go to other places of Yanbian by train, long-distance buses or cars.

Yanji Chaoyangchuan International Airport

Yanji Chaoyangchuan International Airport is situated in Zhaoyangchuan Town (朝阳川镇) in Yanji City, Yanbian Prefecture. It has direct international air routes to Seoul and Cheongju, and direct domestic routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shengyang, Changchun, Guangzhou and other places. This airport is about 5 kilometers away from the downtown of Yanji. You can take buses, airport shuttle buses or taxis to there.

Train

Railway Stations in Yanbbian include Yanji railway station, Yanjixi railway station, Tumen railway station, Dunhua railway station, Longjing railway station, Hunchun railway station Helong railway station, Wangqing railway station and Antu railway station. 

1. Yanji Railway Station (延吉站)
Yanji railway station was established in 1924, and was put into service in November, 2004. The station is very small and there are fewer trains. Every day there are trains passing this station go to Tumen, Jilin City, Changchun, Harbin, Shenyang, Beijing, and other places.
It takes about 50 minutes from Yanji railway station to Tumen railway station; about 2 hours to Dunhua railway station; and about 1 hour to Antu railway station.

2. Yanjixi Railway Station (延吉西站)
Yanjixi Railway Station is the biggest high-speed rail station in Yanbian. It was put into use at September 20th, 2015.
It takes about 2 hours from Yanjixi railway station to Changchun railway station; 40 minutes to Hunchun railway station; 5 hours to Qiqiharnan Railway Station; 9 hours to Beijing rail station; 6 hours to Dalian railway station; and 4 hours to Shenyang rail station.

3. Tumen Railway Station (图们站)

How to Get Around Yanbian

Sharing Bike

Sharing bike  has been spread to the cities and couties of Yanbianis. It is always a convenient vehicle for people to get to where they want to go. 

Bus

It is also a convenient way to take a bus in the cities and counties in Yanbian. The operating time of different bus routes is varying, generally from 06:00 to 22:00. And the fare is usually 1-2 yuan.

Taxi

Taxis are always available in Yanbian. But it is a little bit expensive. Taxis in the Yanji City and other counties of Yanbian may charge differently. In Yanbian, the fare of a taxi is 5 yuan per 3 kilometers.
