Qujing Climate

Qujing enjoys a subtropical monsoon climate, and the weather of Qujing is temperate and pleasurable throughout the year. The average temperature in coldest January and hottest July are respectively 14 and 19 degree centigrade (57.2 and 66.2 degree Fahrenheit). However, the temperatures never reach extremes. Tempered by the low latitude and moderate elevation, Qujing has a mild subtropical highland climate, with short, mild, dry winters, and warm, rainy summers. Frost may occur in winter but the days still generally warm up to around 15 °C (59 °F). During summer, a majority of the days have some rainfall, and daytime temperatures rise to 25 °C (77 °F). A great majority of the year's rainfall occurs from June to October.

Best time to visit

A trip to Qujing is recommended in Spring and Autumn as Summer rains frequently which result in a bad condition of roads. Due to the complex terrain, it presents a typical highland climate with great difference during a day and slight difference throughout the year.
