Qianxinan Culture
Qianxinan is a multi-ethnic autonomous prefecture in the southwest of Guizhou Province. Therefore, in addition to enjoying the scenery, travelers can also explore the rich and colorful folklore and culture of the different ethnic groups living in the area.
Ethnic Groups
There are 35 ethnic groups within Qianxinan prefecture such as Bouyei, Miao, Han, Yao, Gelao, Hui and the like. The ethnic minority takes up about 40% of the whole population.
Ethnic Townships
There are only three ethnic townships in Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

- Ethnic Festivals: Qiannan prefecture has a strong ethnic minority customs. And main ethnic festivals in Qianxinan include San Yue San(Double Third Day), Liu Yue Liu(Double Sixth Festival), Chabaige Festival(查白歌节) and Cedar tree song festival(毛杉树歌节) of Buyi; Ba Yue Ba(Miao Customs Festival八月八苗族风情节), Caihua festival and Embroider festival of Miao, etc.
- National Intangible Cultural Heritages: "A Mei Qi Tuo(阿妹戚托)" of Yi(known as oriental tap dance), Buyi eight notes, bronze drum 12 tones, Buyi opera and Chabaige festival in Qianxinan prefecture have been listed as national intangible cultural heritages.
