Best Place and Time to Enjoy Sunrise

The best places to enjoy sunrise is the Mount that Holds Poyang Lake (含鄱口) and Five Old Men Peaks (五老峰). The best time of enjoying sunrise from January to December respectively is 7:12, 6:56, 6:27, 5:50, 5:52, 5:15, 5:26, 5:44, 6:00, 6:17, 6:40, 7:03.

Best Place and Time to Enjoy Sunset

The best places to enjoy sunset include Fairy Cave (仙人洞), Big Heavenly Pond (大天池) and Dragon Head Cliff (龙首崖). Besides, the best time of enjoying sunset from January to December respectively is 17:38, 18:40, 18:24, 18:43, 19:01, 19:18, 19:17, 18:57, 18:22, 17:46, 17:21, 17:19.

Mountain Climbing

• You’d better keep suitable speed for your hiking to avoid muscle strain.
• You’d better do some massage to prevent muscle stiffness when you rest.
• You’d better bring an alpenstock because there are a lot of steps in Mount Lushan. With an alpenstock, it’s labor-saving.

Clothing

• You’d better wear flat shoes or sneakers when you climb because Mount Lushan Scenic Spot belongs to mountainous area.
• You’d better wear a coat because the temperature of Mount Lushan is low in the morning and evening.
• You’d better bring more clothes because it’s so humid in Mount Lushan that clothes are difficult to dry.
• It’s possible to rent clothes in Mount Lushan if you do not want to take too many clothes with you.

Eating

• Foods in Mount Lushan are mostly spicy, so you should make a request before ordering if you can’t eat spicy food.
• It’s great to bring some snacks because different people have different eating habits.
• Foods are a little expensive in Mount Lushan, so you could bring some cakes or bread if you would like to save money.

Others

• For the safety of tourists, tent camping is not allowed on the mountain top.
• Mount Lushan Scenic Area is so large, and there are lots of unexploited places. Therefore, no matter driving or walking, you had better not choose shortcuts to avoid getting lost.
• If you have night climbing plans, please remember to take flashlights with you. In summer, if it is good weather, night mountain climbing here could be a good experience.
• Please keep your ticket well because there are some places where you would meet staffs for checking tickets.
• There are some stores at the foot of Mount Lushan to offer left-luggage service. You could store your stuff if you think it’s not convenient to climb with too much stuff.
