Yushu Horse Racing Festival, one of the most famous events on the Tibetan, is held during every July 25 – August 1. Ten thousand people come together to join in the festivities. The main events are shows of horsemanship skills including archery on horseback and racing. Apart from the Yushu Horse racing Festival, we will drive to Chengdu and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Day 1 Xining Arrival

Upon your arrival, our tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Then explore this city at leisure.
Day 2 Xining – Qinghai Lake – Gonghe
Sightseeing and Activities: Qinghai Lake
Accommodation: Gonghe
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today we will drive to visit Qinghai Lake, the largest salt lake in China. After the tour, continue the drive to Gonghe foe overnight.
Day 3 Gonghe – Maduo
Sightseeing and Activities:
Accommodation: Mardo

Today continue the drive to Maduo. It will take about 7 hours.
Day 4 Maduo – Yushu
Sightseeing and Activities: Bayanka-Lha mountain pass, Gyanha Mani Stone Piles
Accommodation: Yushu
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today we will drive over the Bayanka-Lha mountain pass and then head to visit Gyanha Mani Stone Piles on the way to Yushu.
Day 5 Yushu
Sightseeing and Activities: Dangkha monastery

Today we will visit Dangkha monastery.
Day 6 Yushu
Sightseeing and Activities: Yushu Horse Racing Festival

Enjoy the Yushu Horse Racing Festival celebration and participate in the local activities such as horse races, yak races, tugs of war, etc. Yushu Horse Racing Festival is a traditional festival held during every July 25 – August 1.
Day 7 Yushu – Shiqu – Manigange
Sightseeing and Activities: Seashuel monastery, Dzochen monastery, Dzochen Five Sciences Academy of Buddhism Study
Accommodation: Manigange
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today we will drive to Manigange via Shiqu. On the way, visit Seashuel monastery, Dzochen monastery and Dzochen Five Sciences Academy of Buddhism Study.
Day 8 Manigange – Dege
Sightseeing and Activities: Xinlu Lake, Derge Scriptures Printing Hall, Gengqing monastery
Accommodation: Dege
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, head to visit Xinlu Lake in Manigange, which is near the base camp for climbing Cholha mountain. Then continue the drive over Cholha mountains and arrive at Dege. After arrival, visit Derge Scriptures Printing Hall and Gengqing monastery nearby.
Day 9 Derge – Katok – Baiyu
Sightseeing and Activities: Katoc monastery, Barbang monastery
Accommodation: Baiyu
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today get up early to enjoy the morning of Derge. Then drive along the upper reach of Yangtse River – Jinsha River to Baiyu. On the way, visit Katoc monastery at Hepo village and Barbang monastery. After Baiyu arrival, visit Baiyu monastery if time allows.
Day 10 Baiyu – Ganzi
Sightseeing and Activities: Ganzi monastry
Accommodation: Ganzi County

Today enjoy the phototaking. Go our for photography in the early morning and then drive over rocky mountains to Ganzi County. Upon arrival, visit Ganzi monastry.
Day 11 Ganzi – Daofu – Tagong
Sightseeing and Activities: Tagong monastery, snow mountain, Tajin temple
Accommodation: Tagong
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Today leave for Tagong. We will pass by Daofu and see the white pagodas in the countryside. After arrival in Tagong, visit Tagong monastery, see snow capped mountains and Tajin temple.
Day 12 Tagong – Rilong
Sightseeing and Activities: Danba Local tower-style buildings, Guozhuangping
Accommodation: Rilong
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Continue the drive to Rilong. Visit Danba Local tower-style buildings on the way. Then go to Guozhuangping and shoot the sunset of four peaks of Mt. Siguniang.
Day 13 Rilong – Chengdu
Sightseeing and Activities: Wolong Giant Panda Breeding Center
Accommodation: Chengdu

Today drive another 160 kilometers to visit Wolong Giant Panda Breeding Center. There is an optional visit to Dujiangyan irrigation System, a world heritage site. Arrive at Chengdu in the late afternoon and check in hotel.
Day 14 Chengdu
Sightseeing and Activities: Chengdu Panda Base, Jinsha Museum

Today head to visit giant pandas at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. After that, continue to visit Jinsha Site Museum. Jinsha Cultural Relics in Jinsha Site Museum is a complete demonstration of ancient Sichuan culture.
Day 15 Chengdu Departure
