Rising above the northwest side of Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, Haba Snow Mountain is opposite to the higher Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and towers 3,500 meters above the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. During this tour, we will start from Lijiang and have a short trekking at Tiger Leaping Gorge, then head to Haba village and trek to the top of Haba Snow Mountain, where you can enjoy the wonderful scenery of Haba Snow Mountain and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with Yangtze River in the middle.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Lijiang Arrival

Airport-hotel transfer. The rest time will be free in Lijiang Old Town.
Day 2 Lijiang-Jade Dragon Snow Mountain-Lijiang
Sightseeing and Activities: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Impression Lijang Ethnic Show, Baisha Old Town, Baisha Mural

In the morning, drive to visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. About 15 kilometers from Lijiang Old Town, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the southernmost snowcapped mountain in the Northern Hemisphere. Upon arrival, visit the scenic spots of Ganhaizi Meadow, White Water River and the famous Yak Meadow.
After lunch, enjoy the Impression Lijang Ethnic Show demonstrating the traditions and lifestyles of the Naxi, Yi and Bai peoples of the area directed in Ganhaizi Meadow(3100M). Later stroll through an enchanting traditional Yunnan old town – Baisha Old Town and visit Baisha Mural – one part of Lijiang World Cultural Heritage.
Day 3 Lijiang (2400m) – Qiaotou (1800m) – Halfway Guesthouse (2500m)

At 6:00 am, drive about 2 hours to Qiaotou Town. Your hiking trip starts from the Qiaotou Primary School, trek two hours to Naxi Family and have lunch there.
The 28 zigzagging turns will be a real test. From the top of “28 turns” on the high path further uphill to a place of altitude above 3000m, have a view of the panorama of the entire Gorge. The go pass Tea Horse Guest House (5 hours) and arrive at Halfway Guesthouse (2500m) to finish today’s trekking. The total trekking route is 26 km, and it takes about 6-8 hours.
Day 4 Halfway Guesthouse (2500m) – Tina’s Guesthouse – Middle Rapids (1800m) – Haba Village (2600m)

In the early morning, hiking about 2 hours to Tina’s Guesthouse. Continue the trekking down the steep cliff to the bank of Jinsha River to the Middle Gorge (Middle Hutiao or Middle Rapids). Then climb up the gorge to Walnut Grove (Woody’s Guesthouse) throughing either the Tianti or Yixiantian route(about 2-3 hours). The total for the day from Halfway Guesthouse to Walnut Grove will be about 5 to 6 hours.
Take the car to Haba Village. After dinner, prepare for Haba Snow Mountain climbing. Overnight at Haba Mountain Guesthouse.
Day 5 Haba Village (2600m) – the Base Camp of Haba Mountain(4200m)

Trek about 7 hours up the Haba Mountain for about 15 km to the Base Camp(4200 m). Have picnic lunch in Haba Snow Mountain.
It is a long trekking along the muddy path. You’d better wear good waterproof boots. Then we will trek through the beautiful forest apart from three meadows that you will cross on the way. Adjust the altitude sickness and adapt to the high elevation.
Note: It is not allowed to sleep before 9:00 PM.
Overnight at the Base Camp or in the wooden hut(beds and quilt are availible in the wooden hut).
Optional: Have one more day in Acclimatization in the Base Camp.
Day 6 the Base Camp(4200 m) – the Camp 1 (4800 m) – Base Camp(4200 m)

Continue climbing up for about 6 km to Camp 1(4800 m), which will take about 6 hours. Our professional mountaineering guide will choose the right path for you to climb up.
There is the other option to walk to the Base Camp at 4200m within an hours and half via a couple of Lake and some mountain passes where you can have good view of Haba Mountain and the area. And then, walk up to the Camp 1 (4800 m) from the Base Camp and back to the Base Camp.
Day 7 the Camp 1(4800 m) – the top of Haba Snow Mountain(5396 m) – the Base Camp
Sightseeing and Activities: Haba Snow Mountain, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Meili Snow Mountain from afar

Get up at 5:00 am, trekking about 5 hours for 4 km to the top of the Haba Snow Mountain(5396 m). Leave most of your luggage at the Camp 1, just take your mountaineering tools with you.
On the top, have a very good view of the mountains in distance, including Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, Meili Snow Mountain in Deqen, Three Holy Mountains in Yading and many other nameless mountains.
Have a picnic lunch, then trek down to Camp 1 to take your luggage. Continue trekking down to the Base Camp. Our service clerk at the BC will prepare good meals and waiting for you.
Day 8 the Base Camp(4200 m) – Haba Village – Shangri La
Sightseeing and Activities: Baishuitai (White Water Terrace), Shangri La Old Town
Accommodation: Shangri La
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Trek down from Base Camp to the Long Wang Bian Village, with yaks taking your luggage. After lunch, drive to Shangri La and visit Baishuitai (White Water Terrace). Then drive about 100 Km to Shangri La and relax in Shangri La Old Town and enjoy Tibetan’s life.
Day 9 Shangri La
Sightseeing and Activities: Songzanlin Monastery, Pudacuo National Park, Dukezong Ancient Town
Accommodation: Shangri La
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Morning, visit the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan – Songzanlin Monastery. Afterwards visit Bita Lake & Shudu Lake in Pudacuo National Park, which is located in one of the most biologically-diverse regions of the world.
Later stroll around Dukezong Ancient Town and walk up to the top of Guishan Hill to see the Grand Prayer Wheel and have a panoramic view of Shangri-La city and Dukezong Ancient Town.
Day 10 Shangri-La Departure
