SW China’s Chongqing launches online tourism service platform
A Chinese-English bilingual online public service platform, jointly developed by China and Singapore, is launched today in Chongqing Municipality, southwest China, to provide domestic and international visitors with local travel services. The platform, named Chongqing Pass, is one of the key cultural and tourism projects at the 2019 Smart China Expo which runs from August 26 to 29, and has a series of functions including providing information, tour guides, reservations and language translation. The platform is accessible through the official WeChat account of local culture and tourism development committee.
Tourists can search for tips regarding local dining, housing, touring, commuting, and so on. Tourists can also purchase tickets to tourist attractions and book accommodations on the platform.
Chongqing as a tourist destination is known for its winding roads, misty skies, mahjong and hot-pot. It received more than 550 million tourist arrivals in 2018.
