Shouxian Chu Culture Museum

Shouxian museum is located in the south of the middle section of the West Street of the ancient city of Shouchun town. It is across the street from the ancient buildings of Confucius Temple, an important cultural relics protection unit of Anhui Province, in the north. The environment is elegant, simple and convenient. Founded in October 1958, it is one of the earliest museums in Anhui Province.

Introduction of Shouxian Chu Culture Museum

Shou County Museum, a quite early museum of Anhui province, is located on the south of the West Street, Shouchun Town, and its original site was within the Baoen Temple. Main collections of the museum include historical relics unearthed in the local area, as well as cultural relics of the Chu cultural system. The museum also collects classic relics and revolutionary relics of the recent and modern times, with the age of collections ranging from the Neolithic Age to the recent and modern times.

Opening Hours:
Tuesday Friday 8:00-11:10, 14:00-16:40; Saturday, Sunday 9:00-17:00; closed on Monday (legal holidays are the same as weekend time).

How to Get There

  • There is a direct bus to Shouxian at Lu’an north bus station. The fare is about 21 yuan. It takes about 1 hour to reach Shouxian bus station.
  • Hefei Xinya north station also has a direct bus to Shouxian, which costs about 23 yuan and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to Shouxian bus station.
  • Shouxian bus station is only about 2.2km from the museum, and you can take a taxi to the museum in a few minutes.
