Qixianfeng Ecological Tea Garden and Factory in Yangshuo, Guilin

Qixianfeng Tea Garden (七仙峰茶场), located in Baisha Town (白沙镇), Yangshuo County (阳朔县), Guilin (桂林), is a beautiful ecological tea plantation nestled among seven peaks resembling the Big Dipper. At an elevation of 800 meters, it is an integrated tourist destination offering tea cultivation, processing, and eco-tourism experiences.

Overview of the Tea Garden

The Qixianfeng Tea Garden (七仙峰茶场) is situated in the mountainous area of Yangshuo County (阳朔县), approximately 10 miles north of the town center. The tea garden’s landscape is formed by seven towering peaks that resemble the Big Dipper, giving the area its name. The garden was established in the spring of 2000, with a development goal focused on ecological and environmentally friendly tourism. The tea garden covers 600 acres (40 hectares) and includes a 1,000-square-meter production facility, four fully automated electric-controlled fresh tea warehouses, and over 30 stainless steel tea-making machines. The facilities include water, electricity, and sanitary amenities, with convenient transportation and communication links. There are currently more than 20 tea-making technicians and over 300 workers for tea picking and garden maintenance.

The tea garden is located in a high-altitude area, often shrouded in mist, with a large temperature difference between day and night. The soil, a semi-weathered granite, is rich and fertile, with good water retention and air permeability, making it ideal for growing tea trees. The surrounding area is a national kumquat planting base (金桔种植基地), ensuring the air quality remains clean and free from industrial pollutants. The entire garden uses organic ecological fertilizers and biological agents. Tea varieties are selected from nationally recognized superior tea tree strains.

In the spring of 2003, the garden began production, creating the “Cuiyu” (翠羽) brand of premium green teas such as the Cui Zhu series (Curled Buds), Cui Zhen series (Maojian), Cuiyu series (Longjing), Qingfeng, Mao Feng, and Xiang Hao. By the following year, the garden reached full-scale production, and it is projected to produce 9,000 kilograms of dry tea annually, with an output value of around 2 million RMB.
