The Pacific Underwater World or Taipingyang Underwater World Exhibition is an aquarium and amusement and educational center that is part of the CCTV Tower complex in Beijing. It is a big center that aims to not only entertain with views of marine life and animals, but to educate people about the marine world and wildlife.

How to Get There

  • Take bus 323, 374, Special Line 8 (Inner), Yuntong 102 or Yuntong 103 and get off at Yuyuantan Ximen (west gate of Yuyuantan Park) Station.
  • Take bus 40, 77, 437, 624, 631 Express, 698, 977, Fast Transit Line 148, Special Line 8 or Yuntong 201 and get off at Hangtianqiao Nan Station.
  • Take Subway Line 1 or Line 10 and get off at Gongzhufen Station. Then transfer to bus 40, 77, 374, 437, 698, Yuntong 102 or Yuntong 103.

Beijing Pacific Underwater World consists of many different zones for visitors to have different experiences. Undersea Tunnel

The underwater tunnel is the main part of the Pacific Underwater World. It is 80 meters long. It adopts a closed circular acrylic transparent tunnel design from 90 degrees to 270 degrees. The electric transmission belt carries tourists through the channel underwater. It is like visiting the seabed. You don’t have to walk, you can easily walk on the seabed. Colorful coral reefs, rare marine fish around, the fascinating landscape of marine animals and plants will have a panoramic view. Underwater World Aquarium makes your dream come true.

Penguin Enclosure

There are more than 20 Humboldt penguins living in the underwater world of Beijing Pacific Ocean. They look special. Their faces and breasts are striped with ribbons that make them cute and unique. This species is distributed around the islands of Peru and Chile. Due to the damage of human activities to their habitats, Humboldt penguins have become an endangered species in the world.

Touching Pool

If you want to be close to marine life, there is a touch pool in the underwater world of the Pacific Ocean where people can touch these lovely creatures. The animals in the swimming pool are carefully selected. They are all non-toxic.
