By Air

Located in the eastern part of the downtown, Tianjin Binhai International Airport is the transportation hub of North China after Beijing Capital International Airport. Binhai International Airport has many international flights to Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia. It is also one of the main bases of cheap airlines, such as Spring Airlines and Okay Airways. The opening of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway shortened the distance between Binhai International Airport and Beijing, which is within one hour. The cost-effective flight price and convenient transportation make some people who go to Beijing choose to arrive at Tianjin Binhai International Airport. Tianjin Airport Transfer

Transportation to the downtown of Tianjin

People can take airport shuttle bus to Tianjin Tongsha Passenger Station, which is in downtown area and at the back square of Tianjin Railway Station, in about an hour. Subway Line 2 is also available and the transfer needs 40 minutes.

Transportation to Beijing

There are main three methods to get to Beijing from Tianjin, namely, 30-50 minutes’ intercity high speed trains through Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city Railway, the 2 hours’ long-distance bus, and the 1.5 hours’ taxi ride. Passengers with mobile internet connection can also reserve a private car through the online car-hailing app “DiDi”.

Transportation to Tianjin Port

Besides taking a taxi or booking a private car from us (about one hour by car), you can also choose to reach the port by subway and bus.

Get on the subway line 2 from the airport to Tianjin Railway Station and then transfer to subway line 9 to Citizen Square station . After getting out of the subway station from Exit A, you may need to walk about 400 meters passing by a gas station along Xincheng West Road and the No. 513 bus stop is right next to the west gate of citizen square. Take Bus 513 there and the last stop, namely Dongjiang Cruise Home Port is where you should get off.

By Train

There are major three railway stations, namely, Tianjin Railway Station, Tianjin West Railway Station and Tianjin South Railway Station. Besides, Tanggu Station located in the Binhai New District and close to Tianjin Port, and Wuqing and Junliangcheng North Station provide intercity train service to Beijing South Station.

Tianjin is not only at the intersection of the two traditional railway trunk lines of Beijing-Shanghai Railway and Jinshan Railway, but also the intersection of high-speed railways such as Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway, Tianjin-Qinhuangdao High-speed Railway.

By Long-distance Bus

The Tianjin highway network is densely covered and the road traffic is developed. The three major passenger stations in Tianjin, namely, Tongsha Bus Station, Tianhuan Bus Station and Tianjin West Bus Station can provide the convenient transportation for tourists to all parts of Beijing and Tianjin. The Tongsha Bus Station, located in the back square of Tianjin Station, is the largest and has the most routes. It is very easy to take a long-distance bus to Beijing in Tongsha Bus Station.

By Ferry

Tianjin Port is the largest made made sea port in mainland China. It is 160 kilometers from Beijing and 60 kilometers from the city center of Tianjin. Very often people use the term "Xingang Port" to mean "Tianjin Port.

Tianjin Port is the largest artificial port in China and is located at No. 129, Xingang No. 1 Road, Tanggu District, Binhai New Area. The two ship routes of Dalian and Yantai in China have been opened, as well as two international ship routes to Incheon in Korea and Kobe in Japan. However, due to the influence of the season, domestic routes generally start in mid-April every year and stop in mid-October. Tianjin Port has regular routes from Dalian to Tianjin in the summer, every two days. Prices vary from 280 to 1580 yuan depending on the ship space, and the voyage is about 12 hours. Visitors can buy it on the agent's website in advance or go directly to the Tianjin Port.

How to Get Around Tianjin

By Metro/Light Rail

At present, the Tianjin Metro has opened 6 lines covering most of Tianjin's major attractions, namely, Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 5, Line 6 and Line 9. In terms of the city's further plan, there will be other 11 lines constructed, such as Line 4, Line 7, Line 8 and line 10, all of which could cover the thirteen districts of the city. Visitors can easily travel to the downtown of Tianjin by metro, whether they arrive from Binhai International Airport or various train stations. Tianjin Railway Station and Yingkou Road in the city are two large transfer hubs. Visitors can also transfer to Line 9(Light Rail) at Tianjin Railway Station to go to Tanggu.

By City-bus

Most of the buses in Tianjin are used the self-service ticketing, and the fare is 1.5-2 yuan. The air-conditioned buses operating in the urban area are basically 2 yuan. The specific price will be written on the station stop sign for visitors to view. Most urban-operated buses operate from 5:30 am to 23:00 at night.

Note:Due to the large number of one-way streets, Tianjin buses tend to have different routes. If you are going to return on the same road, it is best to find out what the returning station is before getting off the bus.

By Taxi

Most of taxis in Tianjin are light blue. The starting price of the taxi is 8 yuan, 1.7 yuan/km within 10 km, and 2.55 yuan/km over 10 km. Finally, an additional fuel fee of 1 yuan is required.

Tips: Taxi service day and night is available at airports, train stations, hotels, restaurants and tourist spots. If you rent a car from Tianjin to Tanggu, it is best to talk to the driver about the price in advance. Tianjin taxi drivers are notoriously enthusiastic, but also a mobile tourist map, where is the authentic food, where to eat Chinese hamburger, where the buns are authentic, where the place is fun. However, most tourists will choose the light rail, which is cheap and convenient.
