How to Get to & Leave Qufu

By Air

There is no airport in Qufu city, but it is just 160 miles away from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport. Jingtai Highway and Jinan Airport Highway offers convenience for connecting the city and the airport. Normally people take flight to Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport and transfer to Qufu with 1.5 hours bus ride. Besides, Jining Airport is only 80 miles away from Qufu, and you could take BRT. It takes you 1 hour to Jining Airport, 1.5 hours to Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport, and 1.5 hours to Xuzhou GuanYin International Airport.

Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport
Located on Jichang Road, Yaoqiang Town, Licheng District, Jinan City.
Located in the Licheng District which is in northeast of Jinan city, Shandong province, and it is 30 km away from the city center. It is one of the most important entering places for overseas visitors and main airports in China. It is 2-hour driving far from Jinan and Qufu where Confucius’s hometown lies. If offers domestic flights to major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Chongqing, etc. Also, you could take planes to Hong Kong, Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, etc. here.

Jining Airport
Located in Zhifang Town, Jiaxiang County, Jining Airport is 80 miles far from Qufu. With its location north to the Jinan Airport, it plays an important role to the tourism routes of “one mountain, one spring and one sage” for tourism in Shandong. Acting as a significant air bridge connecting the hometown of Confucius and Mencius with the outside world, Jining Qufu Airport has provided flights to 26 cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Harbin, Haikou, Xiamem, Xi’an, Kunming, Changsha, Nanning, etc.

Xuzhou GuanYin International Airport
Located in southwest of Xuzhou City, it covers over 30 domestic flights between Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Chengdu, etc. Also, it includes international flights to Kaohsiung, Seoul and Bangkok.

By Train

  • Normal Trains
    The China's economic main artery, Beijing-Shanghai Railway goes through northwest of Qufu; Xinyanshi-Rizhao Railway passes through Qudu and Qufu Railway Station was brought which connects Longhai Railway (Gansu from Jiangsu ) in west, reaching West China, Middle Asia, West Asia and Europe.
    Qufu Railway Station
    Located in the south of Dianlan Road, Qufu, Jining city. It is 31 miles away from Yanzhou Railway Station and 285 miles from Rizhao Railway Station. You could take trains to Beijing as well as cities in Shandong province.
  • High-speed Trains
    High-speed train was available here on June 30th in 2011. China’s longest high speed rail, Beijing-Shanghai Rail goes through Qufu from north to south, and Qufudong Railway Station was established here.

    • Qufudong Railway Station
    Located in Xizou Town, the southeastern Qufu city, it is about 6 miles away from the city proper. It takes you 2.5 and 2 hours to Shanghai and Beijing respectively.

By Long-distance Bus

China National Highway 312, Beijing-Fuzhou Highway, China National Highway 327 and Rizhao-Heze Highway pass through Qufu forming a net, so the highway here is quiet developed and convenient.

Qufu New Coach Station
Location: At the southeastern corner of the intersection of Yulong Road (China National Highway 327) and China National Highway 104.
Information: The station launches long-distance buses to many places in Shandong province as well as some to Beijing and Xinxiang in Henan.

  • Qufu -- Jinan
    Business Time: 6 a.m. -- 9 p.m.
    Interval Time: 20 minutes
  • Qufu -- Yanzhou
    Business Time: 6 a.m. -- 9:30 p.m.
    Interval Time: 15minutes
    It takes you half an hour and 4 yuan.
  • Qufu -- Taishan
    Business Time: 6 a.m. -- 7 p.m.
    Interval Time: 20 minutes
    it takes you about 1.5 hours and 15 yuan.

Attractions nearby by: Confucius Temple, Confucius Cemetery and Confucius Mansion. You could take Bus No.k1, 2, 3, 5, 6 to Confucius Temple and Confucius Mansion from the coach station. Bus No.1 could take you to Confucius Cemetery.

Port

It is 240 miles away from Port of Rizhao, 360 miles far from Port of QingDao, and 40 miles away from Port of Jining of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

How to Get Around Qufu

By Bus

Qufu city is not so big so there are not so many bus lines. Meanwhile, it might take you much time to wait because the duration of bus launching is a little long. But it is quite useful for visitors to tourist sites sometimes.

Tricycle (Rickshaw)

Tricycles are useful and affordable tours tools in Qufu. It only takes you 5 yuan each person. You could feel folk customs while taking tricycles.

Taxi

Taxi is quite convenient for visitors when they get to new destinations. Taxi here is also a good choice for you here.
