How to Get to Mount Everest

By plane

There are no airports around Mount Everest, but visitors can go to Shigatse by plane and then transfer to Tingri County by long-distance bus.

By Train

There are railway stations in Tingri County, those people who plan to travel to Tibet by train can get to Shigatse by train, then transfer to Tingri County. Finally, visitors can charter a car to the vicinity of Mount Everest. It is not easy to thumb a lift on the way to Mount Everest

By Long-Distance Bus

There are only one daily long-distance bus from Shigatse to Tingri County. In general, the time is 8:30 in the morning. The price is generally 65-80 yuan, which is subject to the vehicle type. When you arrive in Tingri County, you need to charter a car to the vicinity of Mount Everest.

By Self-driving or Chartered Car

Mount Everest is located on the border of China and Nepal in the middle of the Himalayas and the south of Tingri County in the Shigatse of Tibet.
