Best Time to Visit

October to May of the following year is the best time to visit Haikou. During this period, Haikou is calm and the climate was pleasant. When cold current from north comes to attack, Haikou is still warm and breezy. At this period, coconut festival(on the 3rd of the 3rd lunar month) and Junpo festival(from the 9th day to the 19th day of the 2nd lunar month) are celebrated.

What to Pack

• Annual average temperature in Haikou basically maintains at 20℃, even in winter, relative to the weather in the north, Haikou is also warm and comfortable. You just need a simple coat and T-shirt. 
• Haikou is rainy in summer, please prepare rain gear. 
• The ultraviolet radiation in Hainan island is very strong, sunglasses, high index sun cream and sunshade are essential.
• You'd better still prepare some of medicines that prevent sunstroke, intestines and stomach diseases and the liquid medicine that prevents mosquito.
• Select the backpack with good air permeability and bring clothes that are absorbent, breathable and dry easily, and do not take too many. If it's in winter, you'd better bring a coat even though the weather is warm.
