The Daocheng Yading Scenic Area is located in the southern part of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. It is situated in the eastern section of the famous Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, in the central part of the Hengduan Mountains. The area borders Muli County of Liangshan Prefecture to the southeast and shares boundaries with Xiangcheng County and Zhongdian County in Yunnan Province to the west and north. The county seat is at an altitude of 3,750 meters, while the highest peak in the area reaches 6,032 meters. The region has a plateau monsoon climate, with clear and sunny weather most of the time, renowned for its stunning natural beauty, particularly the ancient ice cap known as the “Daocheng Ancient Ice Cap.”
