How to Get There?
- Take Line 13 to Daduhe Road Station and leave from exit 1. Then walk to the east along Daduhe Road. Turn south at the first crossing and walk along Nujiang Road to Gate No. 3 of the park. The whole walk takes about 10 minutes.
- Take Bus No. 44, 67, 94, 216, 754, 765, 766, 837, 846, 856, 858, 876, 947, or 1227 and get off at Changfeng Park Station.
Changfeng Ocean World
Changfeng Ocean World, also known as Sea Life Shanghai is the main attraction within Changfeng Park. It opened in 1999 with an area of 10,000 square meters. It showcases more than 10,000 marine creatures of over 300 different varieties. It is China’s first marine aquarium, and Shanghai’s first large-scale world-class aquarium. There are more than 1,500 species of marine life on display, and it is one of Shanghai’s youth science education bases. The main building is located 13 metres below Yin Chu Lake. The aquarium was purchased by Merlin Entertainments in 2012.
Changfeng Ocean World controversially includes a beluga whale and sea lion performance hall. Visitors can, in cooperation with the staff, wear diving suits dance in the water with the whales or sea lions. It is believed that for this reason, Changfeng Ocean World is not linked to from the main Sea Life website.
Silver Hoe Lake
Silver Hoe Lake is located in the center of the park. Covering an area of 13 hectares (33 acres), it is the main area of water activities. Hundreds of willows and poplars dot the lake, providing visitors with dense shade. There are many stone benches and wooden benches by the lake for tourists to rest. In the southwest of the lake, there are several distinctive fish ponds, sleeping lotus ponds and lotus ponds. This design reflects the Chinese classical garden. The park also provides many water activities, such as speedboats and fishing.
Hill of Iron Arms
In the northeast of the park, there is a famous man-made hill, Hill of Iron Arms. The hill, 23 meters (75 feet) high, used to be built of canal silt. Surrounded by many sub peaks, the highest peak appears more elegant and peaceful. There is a valley between the main peak and the southeast sub peak. Like the emerald in it. There are many rare plants and flowers here, which is a very attractive place for sketch. The terrain of Tiebi mountain is changeable and uneven. Visitors will see it in different shapes from different angles. Some pavilions hide on the hillside to reach the main peak, you can see Silver Hoe Lake lake and Changfeng Park.
