Why is the Blue Zoo in Beijing so Special?
Beijing Gongti Richina Underwater World (Blue Zoo Beijing), otherwise called Beijing Gongti Richina Underwater World, is the first five-star ocean aquarium in Beijing, and it was built cooperatively by China and New Zealand. It boasts the longest acrylic underwater tunnel in Asia, and is by far one of the largest manmade “underwater worlds” in China.

How to Get There
- Take Subway Line 6 and get off at Dongdaqiao Station. Get out from Exit A and walk for about 800 yards (730m) to the north.
- Take Subway Line 2 and get off at Chaoyangmen Station. Get out from Exit A and walk for about 1,200 yards (1.1km) to the east.
- Take bus 515 or 615 and get off at Gongren Tiyuchang Nanmen (the south gate of Workers’ Stadium) Station.
- Take bus 43, 110, 118, 120 or 403 and get off at Chaoyang Yiyuan (Chaoyang Hospital) Station.
Underwater Tunnel
The tunnel, made of acrylic glass, is the most distinctive undersea landscape of the blue zoo. It’s 390 feet (120 meters) long, the longest in Asia. Through the tunnel, you can see many kinds of sharks.
Sea Fish Zone
There are many fish tanks in this area. People can watch fish and other marine animals from different regions and ecosystems. Offshore fish, black snappers and other fish are normal species, while other fish have unique features in appearance, habits and colors, such as rosemary, jellyfish, Anemone, Anemone and butterfly. In addition, in the coral reef Ecological Exhibition pool, you can enjoy the diversity and richness of the most complex coral reef ecosystem.
Feature Performances
There are thrilling human shark dance performances regularly here every day. More than 20 giant sharks with tails longer than 2 meters gather food from divers around them, while divers are calm and harmless.
