Temple Legends

One of the most famous legends associated with Zhengguo Temple involves Master Lushi, who left his official position to seek solitude. After a journey, he arrived in the area and established a stone chamber. His disciples, transformed into dragons, brought rain during a drought, leading to Lushi being honored as “Ganying Zen Master” by the emperor. The temple was later built in his name.

In the 19th year of the Qianlong reign (1754), Emperor Qianlong visited the site and was astonished to see the dragons, which humorously defied expectations of their size.
