Yingjiang Nabang Border Port in Yunnan
Na Bang Border Port is a border crossing between China and Myanmar, located in Nabang Town, Yingjiang County, Yunnan Province, China, adjacent to the city of Laza in Kachin State, Myanmar, across the river. The corresponding port on the Myanmar side is Laza Port. Na Bang Border Port is classified as a second-class national port, allowing residents from both sides of the border to freely pass with valid documents.
Strategically located, Na Bang Border Port is separated from Laza City by only one river. There is a bridge connecting the two sides, with red and white colors painted on the bridge’s surface as a boundary marker, with the Myanmar side painted red and white while the Chinese side is not. Border residents from both sides can freely engage in mutual trade and exchanges with border passes.
Entering the border town of Na Bang in Yingjiang County, Yunnan Province, which has 20.5 kilometers of border line and three boundary markers numbered 29, 30, and 31. The winding Laza River serves as the boundary river between Na Bang Town and Laza Special Region of Kachin State, Myanmar. In January 2013, conflicts erupted between the Myanmar government army and the Kachin Independence Army, with three shells falling into the border town of Na Bang, causing significant impacts on local residents’ safety and border trade.
