Jingtai Yellow River Hoodoo National Geopark covers a total area of about 50 square kilometers, including 10 square kilometers of ancient stone forest group. Jingtai Yellow River Hoodoo National Geopark is located in Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province.

Introduction of Yellow River Hoodoo National Geopark

The stone forest was formed 4 million years ago in the early Pleistocene of the Cenozoic Quaternary. Due to geological processes such as crustal movement, weathering and rain erosion, it has formed a variety of stone forest landscapes.

Rock Formations

There were many rock formations, such as a monkey head, a bird and a common Chinese symbol. Point is, it was still super impressive. Along the way, you could see numerous rain gullies.

Characteristic landscape

The main scenic spot of the stone forest is the Grand Canyon and the viewing platform at the end of the canyon, which is located on the north side of the Yellow River. There are towering stone forests on both sides of the canyon. The landform is very unique and the scale is huge. The stalagmites are all about 100 meters high, even more than 200 meters high. It is an extremely spectacular resort for photography.

  • By Train
    The train from Lanzhou to baiyinxi takes about 2 hours.
  • There are buses from Baiyin City and Jingtai county to Shilin scenic spot. About 1.5 hours, 15 yuan / person

  • The climate in the stone forest of the Yellow River is very dry. You need to prepare drinking water before entering the canyon. You can buy it outside the scenic spot or in Longwan village in advance.
  • There is a lot of sand and dust, and the sun is very strong in sunny days. You can prepare headscarves, masks, sunglasses and other equipment to protect your skin and eyes.
