8 Days Northern Sichuan and Southern Gansu Overland Tour

Day 1 Chengdu Arrival

Upon your arrival, met by our tour guide and escorted to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this city.

Day 2 Chengdu – Songpan

Sightseeing and Activities: Songpan ancient town
Accommodation: Songpan
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

In the morning, drive to Songpan. Enjoy the stunning scenery along the road, such as turquoise lakes and big gorges. Upon arrival in Songpan, met by your local tour guide and then be transferred to your guesthouse in Songpan. Explore Songpan ancient town at leisure.

Day 3 Songpan – Huanglong – Jiuzhaigou Valley

Sightseeing and Activities: Huanglong National Park
Accommodation: Jiuzhaigou
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today, head to visit Huanglong National Park. Then hike up to the top of Huanglong Park, with colorful lakes, snow-topped mountains, beautiful valleys and virgin forests along the way. Walk down or take one way cable car going downhill(cable fee paid by yourself).

After the tour, head to check in hotel in Jiuzhaigou valley.

Day 4 Jiuzhaigou Valley

Spend the whole day at Jiuzhaigou National Park to enjoy all three valleys including many colorful lakes, gushing waterfalls and pristine forest. Have a picnic in the park as lunch. In the afternoon, trek along the 4 iconic lakes of Jiuzhaigou, about 6-7km. See a local Tibetan Culture Show in the evening(paid by yourself).

Day 5 Jiuzhaigou Valley – Langmusi

Sightseeing and Activities: the First Band of Yellow River, Ruoergai grassland, Flower Lake, Langmusi Monastery

In the morning, drive to visit the First Band of Yellow River in Tangke. Then move on to Ruoergai grassland and Flower Lake. In the summer, enjoy the impressive landscape with flourishing flowers and greenery.

After the visit, continue the tour to Langmusi Monastery. Langmusi town is a small and intriguing town standing at the border of Sichuan Province and Gansu Province. Stay at Langmusi town for overnight.

Day 6 Langmusi – Xiahe

Sightseeing and Activities: Kirti Monastery, Sertri Gompa, Sangke Grassland
Accommodation: Xiahe
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

In the morning, we will head to visit Kirti Monastery on the southern hill of Sichuan side and Sertri Gompa on northern hill of Gansu side.

In the afternoon, drive to Xiahe and visit Sangke Prairie which is famous for its excellent pasture and frequent magnificent Buddhist ceremonies.

Day 7 Xiahe – Lanzhou

Sightseeing and Activities: Labrang Monastery
Accommodation: Lanzhou
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today’s highlights is Labrang Monastery. It is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, which has become known to visitors as the film’s shooting place of “World Without Thieves”.

After the visit, drive to Lanzhou.

Day 8 Lanzhou Departure

Sightseeing and Activities: First Bridge, Yellow River Mother Statues, Yellow River Ancient Waterwheels Park

This morning, we will head to visit 100-year First Bridge on Yellow River, Yellow River Mother Statues, and Yellow River Ancient Waterwheels Park.

In the afternoon, transferred to Lanzhou airport or train station for your next destination. Service ends.
