Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Chengdu Arrival

Sightseeing and Activities: Equipment check.
Accommodation: Chengdu

As the capital of Sichuan province, Chengdu is the starting city of your trekking tour. Upon your arrival, be greeted and assisted to your hotel. Your guide will review all the trekking details with you. Together with the guide will do an equipment check to ensure the boots and other equipment to meet the environment requirement. 

Day 2  Chengdu – Rilong

Sightseeing and Activities: Maobiliang, Shuangqiao valley.
Accommodation: Camping.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Start the tour today by driving to Rilong in this morning. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours. Enjoy the beautiful alpine scenery when you enter the mountain ranges of Western Sichuan. Stop at Maobiliang view platform for the first panorama of four peaks of Mount Siguniang. Afterward, leave for Rilong [3,200 m. (10,500 ft.)], which is the main base for visiting Mount Siguniang. 

In the afternoon, visit Shuangqiao valley. In this valley, you can view more than 10 snow mountains over 4,000m high, all the peaks, trees, grasslands, streams, and water drops are completely bared in their natural being, untouched and unspoiled by man. 

Day 3 Changping Valley

Sightseeing and Activities: Changping Valley, Ride a horse, Discover the customs of the local Tibetans.
Accommodation: Camping.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Spend today to hike along the Changping Valley and enjoy the spectacular scenery of Mount Siguniang. Located at the foot of Mount Siguniang, Changping Valley is at 3,600 m. (11,811 ft.) above sea level.

During your trek along the stream that flows through the valley, have a panorama of the four peaks of Mount Siguniang in the distance. Immerse yourself into the unspoiled natural beauty which combines the snow-capped peaks and blue sky. As you enter the mountain range, you will notice the steep and imposing ridges of the Mountains, which attracts numerous travelers from all over the world. Also called the ‘Alps of the Orient’, Mount Siguniang got its name from a local Tibetan legend that says the four peaks are the embodiments of four pretty girls. As you cross the cypress pass of Changping Valley, discover some ancient monasteries and the customs of the local Tibetans.

Quality trekking equipment is offered to make your trip comfortable and safe. In addition, you could choose to ride a horse (optional). 

Day 4  Dahaizi

Sightseeing and Activities: Haizi Valley

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Your second day of trekking will takes you to another famous valley of Mount Siguniangshan, Haizi Valley. This valley is famous for the beautiful alpine lakes, including the Dahaizi and Huahaizi. The average hiking time is 6 hours. As you ascend to Dahaizi, which got its name as it is the largest lake among the 5 alpine lakes in Mount Siguniang, gain a spectacular view of the unspoiled scenery. In the evening, camping near the lake for the night.

Day 5 Huahaizi

Sightseeing and Activities: Leisurely walk along the lakeside in Huahaizi.
Accommodation: Rilong Local Hotel
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Enjoy the breathtaking scenery with a leisurely walk along the lakeside in Huahaizi. Then trek to Huahaizi, which is 2 km. (1.2 mi.) away from Dahaizi. It is a smaller lake which covered with wildflowers in the summer. Upon your arrival, walk along the banks of the lake to see majestic surrounding mountains and pure blue water. After, spend a couple of hours to trek back to Rilong. Your memorable trekking will end as you return to this small town. 

Day 6 Chengdu

Sightseeing and Activities: Dujingyan irrigation system.
Accommodation: Chengdu.
Meals: Breakfast.

Drive back to Chengdu this morning. The drive takes about 4 hours. You could stop to visit Dujingyan irrigation system at Yuzui, Feishayan, Baopingkou to get to know how the ancient people do the project and how it works.  Arrive in Chengdu by the late afternoon, you can choose to taste some local snacks, which is renowned for the spicy flavor, and explore the leisurely lifestyle of the locals. 

Day 7 Chengdu departure.

You need an early breakfast today, to reach the Chengdu Panda Base to see the feeding time of the adorable pandas. Spend time and get up close with the panda, one of the rarest animals in China. Now the giant panda only lives in Sichuan Province mountain ranges in central China and cultivation centers like the Chengdu Panda Base.
