Itinerary

Day 1: Xining – Xihai Town

  • Morning:
    • 9:00 AM: Meet your private guide in the hotel lobby.
    • Visit Kumbum Monastery, where you can explore its intricately painted murals and meet resident monks.
  • Afternoon:
    • Transfer to Xihai Town by private car (approximately 2 hours).
    • Check into Haibei Hotel and rest or explore the town.
  • Evening:
    • Enjoy a traditional Tibetan dinner at a local restaurant.

Your private guide will meet you at 9:00am at your hotel lobby, and then you will take your private car to Kumbum Monastery, it is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism. After you have visited this Monastery, you will take your private car to Xihai Town to prepare the Cycling trip tomorrow. Overnight in Haibei Hotel.

Day 2: Xihai Town – Qinghai Lake

  • Morning:
    • After breakfast, start your cycling journey towards Er Lang Jian, along the stunning shores of Qinghai Lake (about 30 km).
  • Afternoon:
    • Marvel at the lake’s turquoise waters and take breaks to photograph the unique wildlife and landscapes.
  • Evening:
    • Arrive at Qinghai Nuobulinka Hotel. Relax and enjoy dinner with views of the lake.

Xihai Town – Qinghai LakeAfter Breakfast you will ride your bike to Er Lang Jian shore of the Qinghai Lake, also called 151 base. You will see beautiful grass land, sandbeach and different animals like deer and birds.Overnight in Qinghai Nuobulinka Hotel, nearby Qinghai Lake

Day 3: Qinghai Lake – Bird Island

  • Morning:
    • After breakfast, cycle approximately 120 km to Bird Island.
    • Enjoy the varied landscapes along the route, including rolling hills and pastoral scenes.
  • Afternoon:
    • Arrive at Bird Island and check into Bird Island Hotel.
  • Evening:
    • Explore the area, observing the local birdlife. Dinner at the hotel.

Qinghai Lake – Bird IslandAfter Breakfast you will ride your bike to Bird Island, about 120KM, in the evening you will arrive Bird Island. Overnight in Bird Island Hotel.

Day 4: Bird Island – Gangcha Town

  • Morning:
    • Visit Bird Island early to witness the spectacle of thousands of birds nesting and migrating.
  • Afternoon:
    • Cycle approximately 65 km to Gangcha Town, experiencing the tranquility of the rural landscape.
  • Evening:
    • Check into Gangcha Honghu Hotel and enjoy dinner featuring local dishes.

Bird Island – Gangcha TownAfter Breakfast you will first visit the Bird Island, you will see hundreds of thousands of migrant birds.After that you will ride your bike to Gangcha Town,about 65KM. Overnight in Gangcha Honghu Hotel.

Day 5: Gangcha Town – Xihai Town

  • Morning:
    • After breakfast, cycle back to Xihai Town (about 90 km).
    • Take in the stunning vistas along the route.
  • Afternoon:
    • Arrive in Xihai and check back into Haibei Hotel.
  • Evening:
    • Relax and reflect on your adventure with a farewell dinner.

Day 6: Xihai Town – Xining

  • Morning:
    • After breakfast, transfer back to Xining.
    • You can explore local markets or nearby attractions if time permits.
  • Conclusion:
    • Check out from your hotel in Xining, concluding your enriching cycling tour.
