Highlight

Getting There

  • We flew with Cathay Pacific directly from Singapore to Hong Kong International Airport. The flight duration is around 4 hours, and the in-flight entertainment and meals were essential to stay comfortable.
  • Budget Traveler? Many budget airlines also fly directly to Hong Kong, giving you a range of options to suit your budget.

#HHWT Tip:

  • Try to book a morning flight so you can arrive by noon, allowing you time to explore Hong Kong on your first day.

Prayer Facilities at the Airport

  • The airport provides 5 Quiet Rooms for prayers. Three are located in the restricted area and two outside, making it easy for travelers to perform their prayers.
  • Wudhu facilities are available, but don’t forget to bring your own prayer garments, as they are not provided.

Getting to the City

  • The most convenient way to travel from the airport to the city is by the Airport Express. The journey takes less than 24 minutes, and the train offers free WiFi and USB charging ports in the first and last cars.
  • For travelers with a lot of luggage, the luggage compartments onboard make the journey hassle-free.

#HHWT Tip:

  • Book your Airport Express tickets through platforms like Klook for added convenience.

For a more luxurious stay, consider Harbour Grand Hong Kong, which features a halal-certified menu in one of its restaurants and offers in-room dining.

#HHWT Tip:

  • Electrical outlets in Hong Kong use a three-pronged UK-style plug, so travelers from Singapore and Malaysia don’t need an adaptor. However, if you’re coming from other parts of the world, bring a plug adapter.

Getting Around

  • The Octopus Card is highly recommended for travel around Hong Kong. It works on all public transport, including the Airport Express, and offers better value for money than a Day Pass.
  • Hong Kong’s public transport system is extensive and easy to use, making it the best way to explore the city.

#HHWT Tip:

  • If you get lost, don’t hesitate to ask for directions. Many locals, including shop owners, speak basic English, and you might even be able to bargain with them in English!
