Day By Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Wuyuan
Welcome to Wuyuan, often regarded as the most beautiful countryside in China! Upon your arrival at Wuyuan Railway Station, our friendly local tour guide will meet you in the arrival hall with a sign displaying your name. You’ll be transferred by a comfortable, non-smoking vehicle with an experienced driver directly to your hotel in Wuyuan County. Your guide will assist with check-in, and you’ll have the rest of the day free to explore the charming surroundings at your leisure.
Arrival Information:
Wuyuan is located in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. While there is no airport in Wuyuan, high-speed and normal trains are readily available from cities like Shanghai (approx. 3 hrs), Hangzhou (approx. 2 hrs), Jingdezhen (approx. 0.5 hrs), Huangshan (approx. 0.5 hrs), Nanjing (approx. 3.5 hrs), Beijing (approx. 7 hrs), and Xi’an (approx. 8 hrs).
Day 2: Wuyuan East Route Exploration (B, L)
After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel for a scenic drive to Jiangwan Village, a national 5A-level tourist attraction with a deep connection to Huizhou culture. After exploring Jiangwan, continue to Huangling Village, perched on a mountain cliff. Visit in spring (March-April) for the sight of rapeseed flowers or in autumn (September-November) to enjoy the stunning Shai Qiu scenery.
Next, head to Likeng Village, known for its peaceful atmosphere and charming bridges over flowing streams. After your village tours, you’ll head to Wunvzhou to enjoy the spectacular evening light shows, fireworks, molten iron throwing performances, and live-action performances. Spend the night here to rest and prepare for the next day’s adventures.
Optional Visit: You can also choose to visit Xiaoqi Village, a well-preserved model village with ancient Qing Dynasty dwellings and a thousand-year-old camphor tree.
Day 3: Wuyuan North Route and Wangxian Valley (B, L)
After breakfast, head to Sixi Village and Yan Village, both boasting over 800 years of history and 136 preserved buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. These ancient villages are perfect for a peaceful stroll through their narrow alleys and green fields.
Next, visit Rainbow Bridge, China’s oldest lounge bridge, built during the Southern Song Dynasty. This 140-meter bridge features six pavilions and five corridors, showcasing both beautiful design and engineering.
In the afternoon, drive about 2 hours to Wangxian Valley, located in Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. Check in to your hotel in this ancient town and take the evening to relax and explore the valley, where the canyon transforms into a spectacular light show as night falls, reflecting the starry sky above.
Day 4: Wangxian Valley Exploration and Departure (B, L)
Rise early to avoid the crowds and enjoy the magical atmosphere of Wangxian Valley. This former abandoned mine site is now a breathtaking natural wonder, blending dramatic landscapes with human heritage and legendary tales. Wander through the valley, with highlights including the White Crane Cliff, where you can walk along the cliffside plank roads to enjoy panoramic views of the entire valley.
After exploring the valley, it’s time to say goodbye. You will be transferred to catch a high-speed train back to Shanghai for your onward travel to your next destination. Alternatively, the tour can conclude at other locations, such as Shanghai’s high-speed railway station, airports, or hotels. Please let us know in advance if you’d prefer another drop-off point.
