3 Days Zhangjiakou Olympic Tour from Beijing

Jointly holding the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Zhangjiakou draws increasing number of tourists with its striking landscape. This morning, our guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel in Beijing and start a private Zhangjiakou tour from Beijing. After about three hours’ pleasant scenic drive, we will reach the hotel at Chongli County in Zhangjiakou. Lunch is on your own arrangements. Our guide is ready to give you some advice and help upon your request.

We will spend the afternoon to drive along the Grassland Sky Road and enjoy the scenery. With a length of over 82 miles, the Grassland Sky Road is rated as one of the ten most beautiful roads in China. The roadsides are dotted with winding rivers, rolling hills, extensive meadows, flocks and herds and remnants of the ancient Great Wall, which make a brilliant landscape painting.

After breakfast, we leave for the Secret Garden Ski Resort, where all skiing events of 2022 Winter Olympics will be held. In the hot summer, it is an ideal retreat as the average temperature here is only about 19℃. In winter, the natural snow mantle provides extremely favorable conditions for ice and snow entertainment. You will have some free time to explore the area. Activities and lunch during your free time are not included in the tour price, but our guide is glad to help you find a good place for lunch if you want.

In the early afternoon, we drive to Zhangbei Bashang Grassland. You will find the air in this natural grassland is intoxicatingly pure. July and August are the best times to admire the grassland scenery. Activities like horse riding, watching local wrestling competitions, camping and so on are always fun. You can take part in the activities and pay the fees on the spot by yourself. Afterwards, we transfer back to the hotel in Chongli.

This morning, we will visit Dajing Gate, a site of historical importance. It is regarded as one of the four ancient gateways of the Great Wall together with Shanhaiguan Pass, Juyongguan Pass and Jiayuguan Pass. We then drive back to Beijing. On our way, we drive past Jimingyi, the largest and best preserved old post station in the area around Beijing. Afterwards, this Beijing Zhangjiakou tour concludes as our guide and driver will say bon voyage on sending you back to your hotel in Beijing.
