Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Xining Arrival

Upon your arrival, met by our tour guide and escorted to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this city.

Day 2 Xining – Qinghai Lake – Xining

Sightseeing and Activities: Jinyintan Prairie, Qinghai Lake, Riyue Mountains
Accommodation: Xining
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Jinyintan Prairie in Haibei

In the morning, drive to Jinyintan Prairie, a typical pastoral area, where there are more than 300,000 cattle and sheep live here.

Then drive to Qinghai Lake. On the way, we will stop at the Riyue Mountains for a visit, which also known as “Sun and Moon Mountain”, which is part of the magnificent Qilian Mountain Range. On either side of the pass, the Ri (Sun) and Yue (Moon) Pavilions were built to commemorate Princess Wencheng’s sacrifice.

Then drive back to Xining.

Day 3 Xining – Xiahe

Sightseeing and Activities: Ta’er Monastery, Xiahe Labrang Monastery

Today we will visit Taer Monastery, the birthplace of lamaism shamanism founder Tsongkhapa, which is some 25 kilometers from Xining.

Then move on to Labrang Monastery. It is one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, which has become known to visitors as the film’s shooting place of “World Without Thieves”.

Day 4 Xiahe – Songpan

Sightseeing and Activities: Sangke Prairie, Langmu Monastery, Flower Lake (Hua Hu Marsh)
Accommodation: Songpan

Langmusi Monastery in Gannan, Gansu

In the morning, head to Sangke Grassland which is famous for its excellent pasture and frequent magnificent Buddhist ceremonies.

Then move on to Langmu Monastery, standing at the border of Sichuan Province and Gansu Province.

The next stop is Flower Lake (Hua Hu Marsh), a nature reserve for protection of black-necked cranes.

After the visit, drive to Songpan for overnight.

Day 5 Songpan – Huanglong – Jiuzhai Valley

Accommodation: Jiuzhai Valley
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, drive to Huanglong National Park. Then hike up to the top of Huanglong Park, with colorful lakes, snow-topped mountains, beautiful valleys and virgin forests along the way. Walk down or take one way cable car going downhill(cable fee paid by yourself).

After the visit, head to Jiuzhai valley for overnight.

Day 6 Jiuzhai Valley

Sightseeing and Activities: Jiuzhai Valley

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Spend the whole day at Jiuzhaigou National Park to enjoy Shuzheng and Zezawa Valleys including many colorful lakes, gushing waterfalls and pristine forest. Have a picnic in the park as lunch. See a local Tibetan Culture Show in the evening(paid by yourself). Please keep your entrance ticket for tomorrow’s second visit.

Day 7 Jiuzhai Valley

Today we will have a second visit to Jiuzhai valley.

Day 8 Jiuzhai Valley – Chengdu

Sightseeing and Activities:

Explore this village at leisure until being transferred to take the flight to Chengdu.

Day 9 Chengdu

Sightseeing and Activities: Chengdu Panda Base, Wenshu Monastery, Wuhou Temple, Jinli old Street

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Drive to Chengdu Panda Base in the suburb, where you can take a close look at the lovely pandas of different ages eating bamboos, playing with each other, tumbling, climbing trees, etc.

Also you can take pictures for them. Don’t miss the chance to watch female pandas nursing their cubs in the nursery rooms. There is also an informative Panda Museum that lets you learn more about the scientific facts about Giant Pandas. In addition, it is very pleasant to walk in the wide garden of bamboo.

Then move on to Wenshu Monastery, a hidden spiritual Buddhist temple of Qing Dynasty in Chengdu downtown.

In the afternoon, visit Wuhou Temple, a temple in memory of Zhuge Liang who was the most famous Military strategist in the Three Kingdoms. The temple is surrounded by ancient cypress trees and classic red walls, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.

Then visit Jinli old Street, one of the oldest streets full of delicious local snacks, delicate artifacts, interesting folk shows, etc. The architectural style tells you what Sichuan looks like in the Qing dynasty.

Day 10 Chengdu Departure

Explore this city at leisure until being transferred to the airport or train station for your next station. Service ends.
