Chongqing airlines was established in Chongqing on June 16, 2007, with a total registered capital of 1.2 billion yuan. It is invested by China southern airlines co., ltd. and Chongqing development and investment company in a ratio of 6:4. It is a local airline in cooperation with China southern airlines in Chongqing. Its main base airport is Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. As of 27 January 2019, Chongqing airlines operates a total of 14 airbuses A320-200, 5 airbuses A320neo and 8 airbuses A319-100. Chongqing airlines opened more than 40 round trip routes across the country, including the flights to and from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Nanjing, Changsha, Xishuangbanna, Jiuzhaigou, Lijiang, Sanya, Dali, Tengchong and Shangri-la, etc.
