
Shuangyingzi Hui Ethnic Town in Shuangyang District, Changchun
Shuangyingzi Hui Ethnic Township长春市双阳区双营子回族乡, part of the Shuangyang District in Changchun City, Jilin Province, is located in the central part of Shuangyang District. It is bordered to the east by Yunshan Street (云山街道), to the south by Pinghu Street (平湖街道), to the west by Luxiang Town (鹿乡镇), and to the north by Shaling Street (奢岭街道). The township is approximately 4 kilometers from the Shuangyang District government and covers an area of 62.74 square kilometers.
Historical Development
- 1949: The area was designated as Dayingzi Village (大营子村), part of the Fifth District of Shuangyang County.
- 1953: Renamed to Dayingzi Hui Autonomous Village (大营子回族自治村).
- 1956: Became Dayingzi Hui Ethnic Township (大营子回族乡).
- 1958: Renamed Daying Hui Ethnic Township (大营回族乡).
- 1958: Integrated into Shixi Commune (石溪公社) and changed to the Dayingzi Administrative Area (大营子管理区).
- 1984: The Dayingzi Administrative Area was reestablished as Shuangyingzi Hui Ethnic Township.
Administrative Divisions
As of 2011, Shuangyingzi Hui Ethnic Township is composed of six administrative villages: Daying (大营), Lu Jia (鲁家), Yin Jia (尹家), Pang Jia (庞家), Huang Jin (黄金), and Xin Sheng (新胜). As of June 2020, these villages continue to be part of the township, with the township government located in Dayingling (大营岭).

It is bordered by Yunshan Street to the east, Pinghu Street to the south, Luxiang Town to the west, and Shaling Street to the north. The township is approximately 4 kilometers from the Shuangyang District government, with a total area of 62.74 square kilometers.
Topography
The township lies within the Shuangyang River valley plain, with higher elevations in the southwest and lower elevations in the northeast. The average altitude is 260 meters. The terrain consists of river valley plains and undulating tablelands. The highest peak is located in Pang Jia Village with an elevation of 311.1 meters, while the lowest point is at the Dayingzi River exit with an elevation of 240 meters.
Climate
Shuangyingzi Hui Ethnic Township experiences a temperate monsoon climate, characterized by distinct seasons and ample rainfall. The average annual temperature is 5.1°C, with an average annual precipitation of 624.1 millimeters.
Hydrology
The township has five rivers flowing through it, including the Daying River (大营河) and the Xiao Ying River (小营河).

As of 2011, Shuangyingzi Hui Ethnic Township had a total population of 16,782, with an additional 127 transient residents. The population comprised 8,467 males (50.5%) and 8,315 females (49.5%). The age distribution was as follows: 1,997 people under 14 years old (11.9%), 12,874 people between 15 and 64 years old (76.7%), and 1,911 people over 65 years old (11.4%). The Han ethnic group predominates with 11,179 people (66.6%), while the Hui (回族), Korean (朝鲜族), Manchu (满族), and Mongolian (蒙古族) ethnic groups collectively make up 5,603 people (33.4%). Among the minority groups, Hui people number 3,846 (68.6% of the minority population). In 2011, the population birth rate was 8.9‰, the death rate was 4.1‰, and the natural growth rate was 4.8‰, with a population density of 233 people per square kilometer. By the end of 2017, the resident population was 16,619, and by the end of 2018, the registered population was 17,322.

As of 2011, Shuangyingzi Hui Ethnic Township is served by several transportation routes:
