Shiqian Hot Spring

Shiqian hot spring scenic area is the first national hot spring group scenic area, a national 4A tourist scenic area, under Songming mountain in the south of Shiqian County, Guizhou Province. Shiqian hot spring, also known as Chengnan hot spring, is one of the oldest hot springs in China. Its facilities were built in the 34th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (i.e. 1606 A.D.) and have a history of more than 400 years. It has a unique traditional bathing culture. It is the only natural mineral hot spring in China and the world that can be both bathed and directly drunk.

Useful Tips for Hot Spring Bathing

Take off metal accessories before bathing or they will turn black.
Wash your feet first, then bathe your whole body.
Rest every 20 minutes, and rehydrate your body by drinking some water or juice.
No massages while bathing or pressure on your heart will increase. Bathing in a hot spring will speed up your heart rate and blood circulation.
Use less bath foam after a hot spring bath. It’s better to wash your body with clean water to maintain the mineral substance left on your skin.

How to Get There

Self-driving
1. Guiyang Shiqian, Sijian expressway.
2. Guiyang – Shiqian, Guiweng expressway, via Weng’an and Yuqing.
3. Tongren – Shiqian, 2 hours’ drive by expressway, passing by Fanjing Mountain scenic spot.
Train
Take the train to Zhenyuan (Yuping), take the high-speed train from Zhenyuan to Shiqian, only about half an hour, or from Yuping to Shiqian.
Bus
Take the bus from Tongren to Shiqian. There are many times. The fare is about 68 yuan. Take the bus to Shiqian bus station and get to the hot spring in about 10 minutes. No.7 bus in the county can go to Chengnan hot spring scenic spot.
